Dad, I have many fond memories of you as a little boy into manhood and every last one of them have been filled with joy. Even during the difficulty of trials and tribulations as I matured, you made life for me and the transition that much smoother. Always the POSITIVE loving daddy, the father, and provider that God so bestowed on you. I can remember as a little boy during a sermon that you preached, I told you after service about these chills I kept getting from my head to toes. You said "son that's the Holy Ghost moving in you". I too remember you preaching with vigor and fire, throwing your handkerchief up in the air and in mid-sentence, catching it in mid-air, and then positioning yourself to the left and to the right and then going down the steps at the pulpit one by one as you worked your way into the congregation, all the while Aunt Margie would back you up on the Hammond organ. INCREDIBLE YOU WERE DAD! All the while as I watched you be a dad, a husband and be a preacher, I wanted to be just like Dad. I do have a little bit of your God-given talent but not like yours. Your seed is planted in me and I sing, hum, and preach and moan all day long as you use to do. High notes, low notes and all in between. But no one and I mean no one could hum and moan like you Dad. I too remember the gift of song God blessed you with and the many gospel songs you put your foot down on. One that comes to mind is "That's Enough, I Got Jesus and That's Enough". Again INCREDIBLE!

Working on the garbage/rubbish truck brings back wonderful working memories as you taught me the meaning of "work hard".

Birthdays, Christmas, Halloween, Easter, Valentine's Day, Family Reunions, South Park, North Park, Kennywood Park, Westview Park, Northside, Southside, Hill District, Homewood, Manchester, New York Hot Dogs, your homefries, breakfast in the morning and your chili, hot sauce, Indian Apples, the Steelers, the Pirates, me and Victor's baseball and football games, family life with Anthony, Camille, Victor and Mom; Church of God in Christ, Pentalcostal tent services, First Baptist Church of McDonald, on and on til the break of dawn!!!! Everything we did and experienced is an every lasting treasure of goodness. I learned a lot from you. I LOVE YOU DAD, GOD BLESS YOU, RIP!

The extended Hayes family (Jeffrey and Marylee along with Florence J. Hayes) would like to express our heartfelt condolences in the passing of Rev. Benjamin Scott. His christian leadership, sprirtual guidance built a strong and everlasting foundation to the parish of 1st Baptist Church of MacDonald, PA. We all share in mourning the loss of this great man that had influenced me and taught me the meaning of Christ's love. We will miss your smile and encouraging words. It was a true blessing to have Rev. Scott in our lives.
