May the God of comfort see you and your family through this difficult, and trying time. At times like this we often want to be alone, and while this is ok. Remember the love of family and friends, and don't be afraid to turn to them. Share a funny memory with them to bring a smile to your face, as well as theirs.

My heart goes out to you and your family in this time of distress. Remember a pleasant time you spent with your loved one, and then thank God in prayer for the time you spent making that memory. This will no doubt bring you a sense of relief. An appreciative heart can help you to go on, despite any distressing events that you may face. (...Draw close to God and he will draw close to you....)

I want to express my deepest sympathy to Bernice's family for this tragic loss. She was my grandfather Samuel Rothenberg's first cousin - her father Morris, and his father Joseph were brothers. I never met Bernice, but she and Sylvan seem to have touched so many people.
May God comfort you among the other mourners of Zion and Jerusalem

Aunt Bernice, I am proudly married to your Nephew Mark Rothenberg for 32 years now. I am privilaged to be a part of this family you were so proud of. The last time I saw you at your son Martin's funeral, you took my hands and told me how important it is to keep family together. We are so sad to live in a world that takes life this way, but we will spread love to combat it. By the way, Aunt Bebe gave me the world's best brownie recipe. I have love in my heart for this family all the days of my life.

This tragedy is unspeakable and your loss is great, cutting to the heart. May you too find comfort in the words spoken at Isaiah 63:9 where we are assured that God feels your deep pain. He has not turned a blind eye and soon will take control over the root cause of all things that cause us pain and suffering. My deepest condolences to you all.

When I moved to Beacon Hill in the late 90's, Bernice was one of the neighbors that welcomed me into the neighborhood. She and Mr. Simon were the nicest people you ever wanted to meet. Mr. Simon and I would do our daily walk around the neighborhood and as we pass each other, I greeted him as Mr. Simon. He would always tell me, "just call me Syl." I never did. So to me, they were Bernice and Mr. Simon. When I relocated to Louisiana, they came over to bid me farewell. I really missed them. My heart aches for all of you. I pray God's mercy and grace for comfort and strength to all of you.

Michelle, there are no words. No words to describe how I feel. I can only say that I was very fortunate to have briefly met your mom and dad at the bakery that day. Your mom was a beautiful lady, and I adored your dad. In that brief chance meeting, I found two very special people. I pray that you, Tyler, Marissa and Makenzie and your family find peace in your hearts during this most sorrowful time. May God Bless all of you. Stay strong.

Dear Michelle, Marc, and Michael,
I want to offer my deepest sympathy and tell you how sorry I am. My heart is breaking for all of you. I was remembering all the good times from Beechwood Blvd. when we were neighbors and watched you growing up. I lived near the Sweers and Wolpers. My sons were Mark, Harvey and Alan. Again, I am so sorry for your loss.

Dear Marc, Michelle, Michael, and the entire Simon family, words cannot express our shock and sadness at the heart wrenching passing of your wonderful mom and dad, grandma and grandpa. We will never forget their gracious kindness and generosity. We will always carry in our hearts their warm beautiful smiles as in this picture which was taken at our first Thanksgiving ever at their house. May their memory be eternal!

I grew up on Sherbrook St when your parents lived there.I baby
sat Michele and when your parents would come home we would sit and talk on the porch. They were two lovely people. I am stunned, as is everyone in and out of the Jewish community. I hope you children find peace at this horrible time. My deepest sympathies to all of you.

I was your parents' hygienist for MANY years and have so many fond memories of our visits. Your dad would stand at the front desk and kid me while waiting for your mom. They always made me laugh and were such wonderful, kind people. I changed offices a couple years back and she made a point of sending me a card and wishing me well. I still have that card and will treasure it forever. I'm sure they were STILL holding hands as they entered the gates of Heaven. Words can NOT express how sorry I am....

The tragic loss of Bernice is a great sadness. She was blessed to enjoy a long loving marriage to Sylvan. So special and so rare. I hope you will find comfort in the words of the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob who promises that soon the whole earth will rest, free of disturbance. At that time the only cries will be cries of joy. (Isaiah 14:7) Please accept my sincere condolences.
