I had to look up if something happened to Carl. It had been a long time since I had seen him on the trail. I have seen him and and off, along with his wife earlier on, for years. I took the time to walk lengths with him a few times, and have conversation with him. Any time he would see me, he would remember my name, ask about the kids, and remember things I had told him. Even out at the Giant Eagle or whereever.
I will miss seeing him. He reminds me alot of my father--and Carl was a great man with love of his family and people. I'm sorry to hear that he passed and I didn't know.

I did not know Carl. I needed to share this with the family however... I walk the trail everyday, when I walk I keep my head down unless passing others (to say hi!). As I walked today, I happened upon a rose petal in the leaves, it looked like a little heart... so pretty I stopped to take a picture. About 50 feet later I came upon the signage put up wishing me to "Enjoy my walk"... Because of him when I saw the 'heart', I smiled today.. I hope this made you smile too. Rest in peace Carl... know my thoughts and prayers are with your family today. :) *I've added the picture as well.*

Carl was such a kind and strong man. I enjoyed seeing him on the trail with the dogs. You could tell by his smile and mannerisms his was a life well led. We'll miss him!
