I was looking through old pictures last night and stumbled across a few of myself and Cydra, when she was student teaching my art class in high school. I lost touch with her in my later college years, unfortunately, so I did a search and was so heartbroken to see of her death at a far-too-young age. She was a wonderful woman. As a student teacher, she was under no obligation to form relationships with her students, but she did. She was so kind and caring, and full of energy. She listened to us, which, as high school students, was so welcome and needed. Even after her short time with us came to a close, she came to our senior art show to show her support and to wish us well. It meant so much to all of us that she came! I cherish the years I knew her and kept in touch with her, and I still have a few postcards she sent to me over the years. Although it was long ago, I remember her so fondly and am so grateful that I knew her. May she rest in peace. So sorry to her family and friends for your loss. Her spirit will live on forever through her students and her beautiful work.

Cydra was one of the BEST people to ever grace this earth. Strong, beautiful, funny and caring. With all of what she had to deal with she gave me strength and inspiration. I hope everyone seen her for the wonderful woman she was. I will miss her greatly.

Mrs Robinson-- I was so sorry to read about Cydra's death in the Seton Hill alumnae magazine. I had tried to get in touch with her a couple of years ago and reached her husband, but I guess she was too busy or sick to get back to me. I am so sorry we were not able to get in touch. I directed her in 'night Mother at Seton Hill and just adored her. I am so sad not to have gotten back in touch in time to tell her that. I remember you guys and your adorable little apartment in Greensburg and have thought of you so often. My deepest sympathies to her husband and son. It sucks to lose a parent. I am just so sorry for your profound loss. Cydra was one of a kind-- brilliant, warm and talented. What an enormous loss. My deepest sympathies.

Dear Carl, Cavan and Mrs. Robinson,
You have my deepest sympathy on the loss of your wife, mother and daughter. Her positive outlook on life and her courage when facing a terminal illness inspired many. She will be greatly missed! Cydra and I shared personal stories of our battles with breast cancer, and
It's so hard to believe that she's gone. I am sorry that I will be unable to attend the service on August 1st; I'll be in NC at that time. With sympathy, Cheryl Little

Dear Cavan,
I read in the paper about your mom's having died, and I wanted to express my condolences to you and your family. I imagine things must be really hard for you right now and wanted to let you know that I'm thinking about you and wishing you the best.
Sincerely,

I met Cydra at UCDC, where my son Max attended preschool with Cavan. She was a unique, wonderful spirit and I always enjoyed her company. There were so many reasons to admire Cydra and anyone that knew her, even briefly, will never forget her. Cavan, you are in my and Max's thoughts.

Our neighborhood will not be the same without Cydra. I can't believe I'll never see her again in the yard, or behind the window of her studio, quietly sculpting her interesting and inspiring art. A generous and gregarious soul, always cheerful and upbeat even in the most disadvantageous moments, she was an example of courage and strength. Cydra will always live in our hearts.

Rest in peace, Cydra. I had the wonderful opportunity to know Cydra and her wonderful family. We truly have lost a wonderful person, who cared for everyone. Gregson and Verna, I am truly sorry and my heart goes out to you. This angel and she was, will always be on your shoulders. To Cydra's husband and son. I am so sorry for your loss. I will always remember Cydra and her wonderful love of life and people. God Bless each and everyone of you. My heart goes out to you. Greg Kenney

I already miss my dear friend, but her spirit is forever burned into my soul and her love is in my heart. Cydra was a bright color in my life. She was a special person and an inspiring and extremely talented artist. My thoughts and prayers are with her family, whom she loved so very much! I am a better person for having had her as my special friend.

Oh my, heaven is celebrating the arrival of the wonderfully talented Cydra today...but we, left behind, will miss her something terrible. She was like St. Joan to me...suffered so long to be a blessing to so many, me included! I will so miss her. Carl and Cavan you have our deepest sympathy...I am glad you and Jimmy will be together in school this year, Cavan. Laurie, Jim, and Jimmy Cunningham
