I knew him very briefly in childhood.. He was the friend of friends of mine, who all of us played a little baseball together.. My impression, as a 10 yr old boy playing ball with my friends, was that this young man, maybe 3 or 4 years older than us, treated us well, as equals. He was a great guy to remember from childhood. I pray, as a Catholic Christian, that God takes his family to a wonderful reward in eternity, which will be more certain for them, given how great an influence he was and is.. If Jesus was here he would tell you stop weeping and then go where Daniel is being carried and touches the bier on which the body is being carried. And he would say, " young man, I say to you , get up!" These words will be occurred again Jesus is coming back to wake the dead.

My brother and I had the pleasure of being on the little league team in which Dan's dad was the sponsor. I still have the picture with Dan and his dad when my brother's team won the championship in 1963. Dan and his dad were generous with their time but also bought jackets for all of the team and the coaches. I still have mine. I am so sorry for your loss.

Sharyn and family: I worked with Dan at D.M. Harris, Inc. where he was a salesman back in the late 80's. I remember him being a lot of fun, with yes a "dry sense of humor", but that's what I liked about him. He was devoted to his job and very attentive to his customers. I hope that you can find some comfort in all the nice things people have to say about him as it indicates that he was a well-liked man. I was saddened at his loss and extend my deepest sympathies. Please also take comfort in God's promises for life in his New World.

There are no words... We didn't know Mr. Stein personally, but knew Ms.Sharyn for a short while as our daughter attended her classroom at the JCC. She was the sweetest teacher ever. Very caring. It breaks our hearts that her family lost a dad, brother, grandfather,... and she lost her husband. Your family is heavy on our hearts.

I was a classmate of Dan's at West Virginia Wesleyan College, graduating in 1969. He was a Spanish major, and I was the faculty assistant to Robert Green, the Spanish professor. Although I haven't seen Dan in 50 years, I still remember his smile. Mr. Green now lives in Minnesota, and he remembers Dan very well. I pray that you will find peace in the midst of this tragedy. Dan will always be with you.

Dear Sharyn, Joe, Leigh, and Stein family,
Our deep condolences and sympathy to you and whole New Light congregation.
For the last several years, I've sat right being Dan at high holiday services. A mere month ago we wished each other shana tova and shook hands at the conclusion of the Yom Kippur service. I didn't know him well, but well enough to know that he was a kind, welcoming, humorous, full of life man. He will be deeply missed.
With love,

The tragic loss of Daniel is a great sadness. I hope you will find comfort in the words of the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob who promises that soon the whole earth will rest, free of disturbance. At that time the only cries will be cries of joy. (Isaiah 14:7) Please accept my sincere condolences.

Sharyn;
I can't find the words to express the sorrow I feel about your losing Danny. The few times he and I talked showed me what a really great guy he was. I'm sure our entire class is praying for Dan and you, and know we're all there for you in the days ahead.

Dan was in my high school class of '65. He and I I were both exchange students the summer of our junior year. He was a joy to know. He was a genuinely kind and good person. There are no words that can begin to comfort such a loss, but words are all we have to show that we care, and that we will remember.
