Dear Darryl and my nephew Keith, I scribbled this on a piece of paper in the car on the way to your 70th birthday celebration. You planned an extraordinary birthday! Sadly, you could not stay because of health issues. So, here is "This I Remember" of my beloved brother Darryl: *I remember waiting at the curb for you to come home with your 1957 Ford Thunderbird. You took me for a spin! So exciting! *I remember the Fourth of Julys and your setting off fireworks. A Blast! *I remember the days when the TV was banned. Those were your college days. The TV was coined the "idiot box". *I remember my fascination with your tiny tattoo, that cool little cat face on your arm. I remember the time I went to the bathroom in the middle of the night and you were sleeping on the toilet! *I remember when you built an airplane and towed it to the airport with your Volkswagon Beatle. I remember your interest in Jazz, in learning and using new words that only the scholarly would use.*I remember how cool it was to have a big brother almost on the edge of being a beatnick. Darryl, I love you and am thankful for having you for my brother. I will forever miss you. God bless you and our brother Ronnie. With my love, Donna (your "little" sister)
