From my days as a student producer at WQED ("The Place" 1966-68) and my first meeting with this gentle man to my last conversation with him in 2001, I have never loved or respected an individual more. The children of the world have lost a fine friend.

When I woke to the news of Mr. Rogers passing this morning, I cried real tears of grief. He was such a HUGE part of my childhood... I can't believe such a pure and welcoming soul has left us.

At 31 years old, I still sing his songs to myself to make my day brighter... I will carry his memory the rest of my life, and pass it on to my children, their children, etc. forever.

Thank you Mr. Rogers for the effect you had on all of our lives. You shall be missed.

Thank you! Thank You Fred Rogers and the entire cast/crew in the Neighborhood! You gave us so much! Through TV you "raised" us to love one another, to be kind to one another and most of all to love & be kind to ourselves!! May future generations grow & learn as reruns continue!!! You will be missed Fred Rogers but you are always in our hearts & souls!!!

Sad day indeed. Mr. Rogers was a calm voice beckoning us to a quieter time. I watched him as a child, and my four children also love him. My thanks to you Mr. Rogers...for making this world a better place for children of all ages, for inspiring parents to try a little harder to be better parents to our children, and better people ourselves.

My condolences to the Roger's family and friends of the Neighborhood all over the world.
