Hard to believe it's been a year already. Still miss you every day.
My life is a lot more empty today. Duane was an inspiration and mentor to so many of us in PJAS. I am happy that I can say we were very close. For so many years Duane and Jeff were a big part of my life. I thankful for all of those moments. Especially after Duane had a little gin. She has been in my thoughts and preyers each day and she still is there. I will miss her so.
God Bless Duane's Mommy. She gave the world my dear friend, she must have been amazing!! God keep her family close to your heart and protected by your hand. So sad for your loss. I am sure she is singing & dancing w/ Dad & Jimmy up in the big house !! All our love, Flo & Kyle Gay
Like ripples in a pond, you touched so many lives as a teacher and mentor, having lived long enough to teach the children of the children you first taught. Rest peacefully and watch over us from above.
Losing Duane is a great loss to all of us who love science.
This a great loss to not only her family but to all of us. Duane was a great motivator and lead by example. She will be greatly missed
to the Keenan family we extend our sincerest sympathy. It is hard to lose your mother no matter how long you have her. Mrs. Keenan was one of our oldest and most liked customers. We appreciated her as a customer but liked her as a person. Her character and caring nature were very evident. We will miss her.
The PJAS family lost a dear family member and we all share in the Keenan's family mourning. What I remember most about Duane is her snappy & witty sarcastic comments! But ALWAYS said with a loving, firm and guiding way. You did what you were told by Duane bccause it simply was the right thing to do. Tell your favorite story about Duane today and keep her memory alive. Rest in Peace my friend, I will miss you.
Deepest sympathy to the Keenan families from 143 Foxcroft Rd.
I knew Mrs. Keenan since 1998, she was always very welcoming and kind to me, my family and my Husband Michael. She will be greatly missed. My deepest sympathies extended to the Keenan family.
To the family of Duane Keenan I offer my deepest sympathy and prayers. I knew your mother through Duquesne U. and through the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science. She was a great woman and a wonderful advocate of science for young people. She was good to me and took me with her one year to the American Association for the Advancement of Science as students from PJAS could present their work to the adult scientists. Also,I knew your Dad, Jim, as he helped Duane with PJAS. If you all are like them, you must be great people! I'm sure you have great memories to comfort you.
You all will be in my prayers. Take care and be good to yourselves. It is hard to lose one's parents. But remember what St. John Chrysostom said-- that whenever we lose those we love, they can now be wherever we are.
God bless you.

You did a great job for PJAS with all the activities you helped with. You did a great job with the kids. PJAS will lost without your expertise. It was great knowing you for so many years. Thank you for a job well done.
The world lost another Hero.

Working with you at PJAS was a pleasure and an honor. We admired your dedication and spirit. You will truly be missed.
Thank you Duane for all that you did for PJAS and the students that you helped during your 25 years. You will be missed.
Duane Keenan provided guidance for me as novice science teacher, and gave help and support for many years thereafter. Her devotion, life and work are an inspiration to all who value science education at all levels. Finally reunited with her beloved husband, she is now happy with God forever. She will be deeply missed. My condolences to her family.
When I come to the end of the road and the sun has set for me, remember the love that we shared so that it may comfort you.
Thank you, Duane, for all you have done to inspire the future scientists of our schools. Your dedication to PJAS has enabled teachers to provide their students with positive experiences in the world of Science. Thank you with all of my heart.
Sincere condolences to the entire Keenan family. We are forever indebted to "Mrs. Keenan" for the exemplary leadership she displayed during her tenure at SS. Simon & Jude and for the outstanding scholarship that she fostered in several generations of aspiring scientists. I will be forever grateful for the confidence that she inspired in me and for the tough love that that she practiced that served as a moral compass to steer us to higher ground.
May God bless Mrs. Keenan, and may she rest in eternal peace.

Duane was a one of a kind rare gem. The PJAS family will truly miss her. We have been blessed to have her as our mentor for so many years. may you continue to lead us from the stras in heaven!!
Duane's remarkable spirit will live on forever in the hearts and minds of all who knew her. Duane's presence made this world a better place and we will miss her dearly. The entire PJAS Region 2 family will do its best to live up to Duane's expectations and we will keep her family in our thoughts and prayers.
Duane was my student teaching supervisor when I attended Duquesne University and was a wonderful mentor. She inspired countless students and teachers with her dedication to PJAS. Her life touched so many others. My deepest condolences to the family.
You will always live in our hearts and prayers.
I have always felt priveleged to have known Duane. She was my college professor and a colleague. Duane embodied the educational standard of excellence. She challenged everyone to do their best--and they did. One always felt secure in her presence because she always had solutions. Her dedication to the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science, Region 7 - Pittsburgh was incomparable. Even when Duane's health was at a low, she attacked her position of Director with more determination.
She was extremely proud of her children and grandchildren.
When the subject of "love" would come up in a conversation, I would tell of instances when Jim and Duane were at PJAS together. He cherished her. It was a once in a lifetime love
Jeff, your mom was "one of a kind" and my world will miss her.
So sorry for your loss. Take care of yourself.
Our hearts go out to your family. Duane was a wonderful person and my mom's dearest friend. I was privileged to get to know her in these last years.
Please accept my deepest sympathies.
I will fondly remember the sparkle in Duane's eyes when she proudly talked about her family. She was a special lady and I'm glad I had time to share these special moments with her. I have a feeling that she is keeping a close watch on her family from above. God bless the Keenan family and peace be with you in your time of sorrow.
Know that you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. May Mom be at peace at last.

Dear Keenan cousins. We are saddened to hear that Aunt Duane has died. I didn't know much about her when we were kids and always horsing around at Granda Keenan's. As I got older though and had the chance to sit and chat with her awhile I found out she was a really special lady. Remember her fondly, and Peace be with You.
