My old friend... You will be very much missed... My Deepest Condolences. Evan Brody
I am saddened to learn that George passed away. I want to offer my prayers to the McCormack family. Coach George was my discus coach back in 92 and 93. Like many other Baldwin grads George had a major impact on my life. He will be missed.
I was saddened to hear that George had passed away. I thought that George was a man of great integrity and a fine example for all those he coached.I had the pleasure of working with George when I was the president of the WPIAL wrestling coaches association. My prayers go out to his family.
Dear Kim, Brock and the entire McCormack family and friends, I am so sorry for your loss and I send my condolences to you. I really didn't know George, but I felt like I did. I heard from others what a wonderful man he was and I prayed for him everyday during his illness and I will continue to pray for you and the family. Please know that you now have a huge angel watcing over you forever. God bless you and may our almighty God give you all the strength that you need at this time. God bless you.
A neighbor who will be missed. Kim and Brock, May you find peace.
I had the pleasure of coaching track with George for many years at Baldwin High School and am deeply saddened by this news. My prayers are with the McCormack family. He and I shared the upper field for many seasons. His laugher was contagious, his coaching built champions, his leadership touched us all. Yes, he was a "champion of a man", and we are all better off for knowing him. I am sure I speak for all of his athletes, fellow coaches, and all those that came to know him. We will miss you dearly but we salute you for a life of excellence.
George was a great man. The Mccormack Family . My heart is with you at this sad time. May god bless all of you.
Kim and Brock,
My heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with you. I was always so impressed how you ( Kim) and George were involved with Brock on those Friday Jr. golf days at Valley Brook. Please know I will keep you in my prayers.
So sorry to hear of the loss of George. He was truly a first class person and coach! Always a gentle giant and it was a pleasure to coach with him through the years!!!
Chris Mary (Canon-McMillan Wrestling)

Facchini Family - Tampa FL
Prayers for you at this difficult time.
To George's family, friends, and loved ones...my deepest sympathy. I can honestly say I have never met a kinder, gentler, caring person than Big George. I knew him through wrestling. We were teammates at Pitt and coached against(together) for 19 years. Big George was truly concerned about his wrestlers, even more off the mat than on! I know his loved ones will carry on his legacy of caring. Rest in Peace Big Guy.
I am veryy sorry for the loss of Big George, a great teammate and friend. You and your family have been in our thoughts and prayers.
I met Big George several years ago as he was a brother in our annual summer golf event in Avalon. Big George even attended this year through his battle. I don't think any of us ever felt this was the last time we would play golf with Big George. The unique thing about our annual golf trip, which we have been doing for many years, is that most of us only knew people by their nickname and not their real names. I only wish I knew his middle name was Webster. I'll miss you Big George. My thoughts and prayers to his family. - SHEIBS
I remember spending alot of my youth at your families home on Imperial Drive, York, Pa. I remember hanging out with you and Dan. I remember talking you in to going out for wrestling because you always beat me during our impromtu wrestling matches even though I was a boxer. I was happy to see that you listen to me and excelled as a wrestler at Dallastown High School.I remember the love and kindness your family showed me and I felt very much a part of your family. The years have come and pass but I will never forget you Brother. You are missed my friend. God has given you wings and I will see you in heaven one day.
I met George in kindergarten. Even then, he was kind, happy, and full of laughter. I can't ever remember him without a smile...(except when he was on the football field or wrestling mat, of course). Just from reading all of the special memories that everyone has of George makes it clear that he was just as wonderful an adult as he was a kid and teenager. I am so sorry for his wife, son, and the whole McCormack family. I have been so sad since hearing of his passing. I can't even imagine your pain. You are in my prayers. God bless you.
George was a great teammate. He had the longest laugh I can remember. When something made him laugh, he would just crack up. Tho I hadn't seen him many years, I always remembered him as one of my favorite football teammates from Dallastown. Safe Passage #76. You are missed...
Kim, Brock and the McCormack Family,
My deepest condolences to you and your family during this difficult time. I had the pleasure of knowing Big George at Pitt and we had a lot of great times together that I will forever cherish. There will only be one Big George and I am forever grateful that I had an opportunity to have known him.
Just a note to George's wife and son. I had the privilege to know George through wrestling at Pitt. Actually a short story is when George was being recruited at Pitt from Temple I got to take him out on his visit. It was late that evening and we were at the Original Hot Dog Stand (The "O"). I asked George if he wanted something to eat except I called him Bruce. George graciously looked at me and said "Who you calling Bruce". I called him Bruce the whole evening. It was an inside joke with George and myself for years. When I would see him years later I would call out "Yo Bruce" and we would both belly laugh. George will be missed. You both are in my thoughts in prayers. What a great man,
Kim and Brock, May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.
Kim, Brock and the McCormack Family,
May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.
Sorry to hear about the loss of George. My wife and I worked with George at BHS. He was a great teacher and a good friend. He will be in our prayers.
To our neighbors, we are so very sorry for your loss. You were the first neighbors to welcome us to the neighborhood. The first to invite us in to your home. The first to lend your condolences when we experienced our own time of grief. Thank you! George was a great neighbor who looked out for everyone on our street. George never hesitated to take time to stop and listen to the gibberish filled story my 3 then 4 year old son would spout out after screaming "Mr. McCormack" . I Always appreciated that he took the time to listen to the children. I always admired the way George pushed through even when not feeling well and continued to do his best not to slow down. George and Kim have raised such an Amazing son and Brock will carry those special memories forever. Kim if you ever need anything..... We are right next door. Rest in Peace, George.
Kim,Brock and the McCormack family-
Looking back on my years at Pitt, I have such fond memories of all of the fun times spent with George. He could always make me laugh!! George was an all around nice person and a good friend!
Take care of yourselves and each other during this difficult time.
So saddened to hear about this loss - way too young. George and I went to the prom together senior year. We looked like we belonged on top of a wedding cake - he wore a white tuxedo with tails! Great memories to carry us through. In reading the posts, it sounds like George lived a very full life! Prayers to the entire McCormack family!
I worked with George for many years, both at the middle school and at the high school. He was a steady beacon during dark times and a source of great laughter during the lighter moments. The number of souls he touched, and the impact he made on all of us are a tribute to the value of this man. The world is truly a better place because of his presence with us. Peace and comfort to all of his family at this time--
Good old GMACK,
You were my gym teacher at Baldwin and there was not a day that went by that you did not have me cracking up for some reason. Mainly because I never participated and you would always try to scare me by telling me I was going to fail haha, but it did not bother me so eventually you stopped trying. That is the best memory I have from you. I wish your family my deepest condolences and sympathy during this rough time. Your legacy will live on GMACK!

The world has truly lost a wonderful person. As Athletic Trainer, I was able to see first hand George's passion for his athletes and students. He was a great coach, an excellent teacher, and a very proud father. You will be sorely missed.
Fewer men have touched and inspired as many young individuals as Coach McCormack. He motivated me to achieve and become more. Much of my foundation has come from his coaching and mentoring. He provided two things for me: a positive example, and consistency. You will be dearly missed. ~ Justin Calvin - Class of '99
So many of my high school memories include George and the whole McCormack Family. I am heartbroken and am so very sorry for your loss. I hope the wonderful memories of George help get you through these difficult days.
Thinking of you all.
I first became friends with George when we were 13 on the back of a school bus on are way to a J. h. basketball game. We were inseperable for the next 10 years. George made me part of the McCormacks. He was truly the best friend I have ever had. I will cherish our memories Fish

As a former coach and teacher at Dallastown High School, I can tell you that"Big"George was one of those teenagers you loved to be around. I had the pleasure of coaching him and followed his career in education and sport. All who knew him were proud to say so! Prayers to the family and God Bless... (Ray Geesey)

Never once heard a negitive coment said about George. Don't know if I can say that about anyone else. You made a difference in this world.

George was one of the kindest men you will ever meet with always a smile on his face. God only picks the best flowers for his garden. He surely got a good one here. He will sorely be missed by all and until we meet again. Love you Big George. Kathy and Mike (Dog)Cahill

My deepest sympathy and prayers go out to the McCormack family. Coach McCormack/GMac you will be dearly missed. You were a positive male role model/coach for all three of my sons..Nate Galati, Khory & Justinn Lion, and for that I am forever grateful! My daughter Shyanne had you for gym and is deeply saddened also by your loss. The baldwin Community has lost one of the best. Rest in Peace!
I cut George's hair when he was in high school. His mom, Janet, who I treasure knowing, introduced me to their awesome family. His older brother introduced me to my husband. Our hearts and prayers go out to the entire family. John and Karen Gemmill
Mr. McCormick was hands down one of my favorite teachers i've ever had at baldwin high-school.He was a great guy who impacted not only me but many students- teachers- and athletes at baldwin. His legacy will remain through the years in the baldwin community- rest easy GMAC.
I only had the pleasure of meeting Mr. George McCormack once, but his name was mentioned in my household fondly by my nephews and brother. Mr. McCormack helped my oldest nephew get a job helping younger kids learn to wrestle. He also helped my younger nephew not only in wrestling, but also when their father (my brother) passed away. Mr. McCormack never passed judgement he truly helped my younger nephew by giving him an ear to listen to, a shoulder to lean on and a hand to help. I am so sorry for the family's and the communities loss. Mr. McCormack and his family will be in my prayers.
My heart goes out to "Big" George's family as he has been in my heart and prayers. I wrestled at Pitt w/ George and have fond memories of our time there. I also enjoyed coaching across the mat from him and saw the impact he continued to have on so many of his athletes and students. He will be sadly missed but his hearty laugh not soon forgotten. Again, my deepest condolences to his family and friends on their loss.
I will truly miss you G Mac... I always enjoyed seeing you.. You have touched so many people..
So sorry for your loss. He always had the biggest smile. We are all blessed to have been apart of his journey. Blessings to all??
Prayers and love to you all at this time
I graduated from hs w/George. I remember him as a strapping young guy who was just so sweet. It saddens my heart to learn he has passed at such a young age.
You'll be missed. Best gym teacher ever.
So many great memories I have of my friend George and his wonderful family growing up. I can't describe how sorry I am for the loss of this great guy. I'll always remember him picking me up in that 4o foot long yellow car of his and all the great times we had.
I'm so sorry for your loss. I will always remember George's big laugh, generous nature and the great times we had at Pitt. He will be miseed.
The thing that I will miss most about George is his laugh. His laugh would go on for what felt like minutes and it just showed how full of life George was.
You were a great motivator and a great person, God bless
Such a good man. You will be missed, G-Mack!
I'm saddened to hear the news and with a heavy heart I write this. Never will I forget what you have done for me. As my discus coach you helped me win a WPIAL championship and be a two time runner up. We had some great times I will always cherish.
My coach, my friend. Goodbye.
My prayers are with your family.
