Dear Connie, Please accept my sympathy at the loss of your beloved husband. I remember him well from my days at Duquesne. Although I never had him as a professor, I remember him in the halls of the English Department, always smiling and always with that twinkle in his eye that the obituary mentioned. Dr. Roland Ramirez was a professor of mine when I was an undergrad at Duquesne from '97-02. He taught me in Asian Philosophy, and I absolutely loved him and that class. I learned so much, and I remember how he told us such great stories about his travels. He made me want to do so well in that class, to study so hard. I actually looked forward to his tests! He was such a kind, gentle man, as well as an incredible teacher. It was an honor to have him as a professor. He will be missed.
It was an honor to have worked with you and Roland. You both gave so much to DU. You have my sympathy and hope that joyful memories counter some of the sadness.
With much regard, Holly
It was a privilege to have known you and Roland. May his memory always be for blessing!
