It has been decades since I have seen Patti, but my memory of her zest for life and unique perspective will be everlasting. My heart goes out to the Scheimer and Bednarik families
Dear Joe, Alan, Craig, Gary and families, I was privileged to be a person Patti could call on for some advice on Bankruptcy issues both at the Disciplinary Board and Board of Law Examiners. We became friends and I was always so impressed with her work ethic and human essence in dealing with people. She is my hero and has been in my prayers throughout her battles with kidney disease and cancer. I will miss her calls and certainly her smile! You need to know how important she was in so many lives she touched. I can speak to her legal life; others have talked of her animal rights life. She will be with us always.
We have wonderful memories of Patti and you at ME get-togethers. We will remember her smile, her loving kindness, her unending curiosity, her laughter, and her love for God's 4-legged creatures. We are blessed for having known her, and are keeping you in our prayers.
Waverly just notified me of Patti's passing. You always said what a special person she was and so caring about people, as well as animals. David and I extend our sincere condolences for the loss of your wife and best friend.
Thinking of you, Joe. We are so sorry for your profound loss.
I didn't know Patti and honestly it sounds like it is my loss for never having met her..I have read all the stories and her incredible journey advocating for the animals...the world is a better place having her for a short time...a heartful sympathy to her family and hopefully we can all keep her legacy alive.
I am so sorry for your incredible loss. My prayers are with you Joe.

DEAREST JOE & THE SCHEIMER FAMILY, I AM SO SORRY TO LEARN OF PATTI'S PASSING. THERE WAS NOT A FINER PERSON THAT I HAVE EVER MET. SHE WAS A FRIEND TO ALL AND WE ARE ALL BETTER PEOPLE FOR HAVING KNOWN HER. THERE ARE NO WORDS AT THIS TIME CAN EVEN BEGIN TO EXPRESS OUR SORROW FOR THE LOSS OF THIS WONDERFUL PERSON. WE WILL HOLD ONTO OUR MEMORIES OF HER ALWAYS. GOD BLESS YOU ALL. LOVE AMY & GARY KOCHANSKI & KEITH SNYDER. YOU HAVE YOUR WINGS TO SOAR ALWAYS NOW PATTI ROSE.
I knew Patti in our childhood, growing up in Mt. Lebanon, mostly through our synagogue, Beth El. The last time I saw her was when we were in college, in the late 1970s. But she was a wonderful gal, very distinctive in a positive way, and I have very vivid memories of her. She was very bright and quick-minded. She was playful and fun-loving, but also very family oriented and serious about responsibilities. Very sweet-natured. She had a special kind of charisma -- you looked at her and liked her right away. May her memory be for a blessing, and may her husband and family be comforted among the mourners of Zion.
Patti Family & Friends,
I worked with Patti at the Allegheny County DA's Office. When I was new she welcomed me and did all she could to help me acclimate. Patti made my life brighter with her kindness, determination, and character. She made the world a better place and she will be missed by so many. I will keep all of you in my thoughts and prayers.
We are truly sad to hear about the passing of such a great person who has left our lives. Patti contributed so much to her family, work , and life. I feel very fortunate to have been with her and Joe on several friendly gatherings. Her calling was early, but memories of her will be forever.
I'm so sad that circumstances keep me from being there, but Patti will live forever in my heart. We'll honor Patti's wishes, and donate to the four-footed living instead of flowers she can't enjoy. I'll honor her beautiful memory, by taking my girl Ceili on a long walk in celebration of a life so well lived. My heart aches not only for my loss, but for the huge empty place her passing leaves in her dear family and pack, and so very many others who were touched by her.
Dear Joe & Family,
Terry & I want to express our sincere sympathy to you and the family. I always enjoyed hearing about her travels and appreciated very much what she was doing in the animal legal defense. We were so saddened to hear of her passing but know her pain is over. She will be greatly missed.
Love, Janice & Terry Clatone
Joe: I met you and Patti at Toastmasters so many years ago. Was glad to see her again at Unity of Harrisburg. When I talked with her in August, I was impressed with her continuing "I can do it" attitude. She had both her dogs with her and told me of the love and comfort she shared with them. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Barbara Nelson

Everyone who encountered Patti became blessed. Her strong spirit persevered even when her body could not. She suffered with dignity. Now her spirit is released to shine in a purer place with higher challenges. I join those who mourn. I will miss her greatly. I pray for blessings upon her family and other friends who mourn her passing.
