My Uncle Lt. Lawrence Mannke, worked with Corky Alberts until his retirement from the Allegheny County Police Dept in the early. 1970s. My beloved Uncle told me so many stories of the Corky as both a leader & friend who challenged all of his staff members to perform to the very best of their ability, while maintaing a professional relationship with the courts & public they served.
Based on the conversations with my Uncle, Corky changed the tapestry of Alkegheny Countx by reframing the Police Department.
My deepest sympathy for your loss may you treasure the memories Corky gave you & your family.

Extremely sorry to hear about the loss of your dad. I will always remember him for letting me into his home for family dinners, going to nice restaurants and giving me a confident feeling that I always had a family environment when I needed it. Have comfort in knowing that he was a good man.
