Its been 10 years. I hope you are at peace and your daughter is thriving and family doing well. Know that your memory is never forgotten and still has impact in those that remain. 10 years later we still struggle with your death and your family´s loss. Memorial Day is to let you know I have never forgotten you and your family´s sacrifice. Everywhere I go for 10 years there has been a drink left untouched at a pub in many countries and states in memory of you and Leroy.

KJ Growing up you were a brother to me. Reading your Guestbook I see I'm not the only person you've blessed with your presence. I think about the good times we had as kids and somehow manage laugh with a face full of tears. I know your in Heaven looking down on us, your always heavy on my mind and close to my heart. Last year your little brother proved he could out run me. It's almost unreal how much he reminds me of you. Your a hero forever. Thank you.

Hello,
We would like to express our deepest condolences and also let the Jacobs Family know that we recently sent Care Packages to American troops in the war zones. Each box carried a dedication sheet that includes the name, service information and a photo of your loved one. We recognize that this is a humble tribute, but we wanted you to know that it is heartfelt and made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals in the youth hockey community and beyond. We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you strong.
Sincerely,
Charlie Gili & Family

Prayer Shawls 4 Fallen Soldiers ([email protected]) is an organization with groups throughout the country who strive to send handmade prayer shawls and/ or lap robes to families who have lost a loved one in service to our country. Members of Trindle Spring Lutheran Church in Mechanicsburg, PA would like to honor your son's sacrifice and memory by sending our prayers and comfort through a shawl which we will mail to you. If you are interested, please contact me at [email protected] with the names and addresses and what they would like to receive. We will send them as soon as possible. Also, if you know of any other families who are grieving the loss of a loved one who died serving our country, please pass along my e-mail address, as our organization can no longer get family contacts through the military. May God bless you and comfort you in the days ahead. Sincerely, Lynne

I saw Kedith's picture on the news this morning here in Minnesota. All flags are to be flown at half staff for him today. I don't know what it was about his picture but it downed me, slugged me hard. Here was this perfect young man with life in his eyes and he is honored by lowering a flag. I didn't know Kedith at all, yet he means something to me. I don't know what, but he looks so regal so stoic and, well, fierce. He was probably the greatest soldier, son, brother, father, husband, man that ever lived and he never lived long enough to show us. He looks to be the perfect human and he died before he could share all his talents and abilities. Kedith was black and I am white, he was young and I am middle aged, he served and I did not, he's a father and I am not, he's a hero and I'm just another American. Rest in peace great warrior, you are my hero.

I know there are no words to say at this time, except how sorry that I am. My thoughts and prayers are with you always. Kedith will never be forgotten.
For you every single soldier
Those who served so honorable
Your life was forever altered
While I'm home safe and free
I stand with grateful admiration
I stand respectful and so proud
I know I'm only a civilian
And I don't even know if it's allowed
But I salute you; allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
Even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
My humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you.
For those missing in action;
for those who didn't make it home.
I know you're in God's presence you are not alone.
For every neatly folded flag;
for every shattered family
I will do the only thing I know to dignify your memory.
I salute you, allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
my humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you .
I Salute You.

No words can express how I feel about what has happened.I never deatlh with these things well... And for some reason your passing has hit me extra hard. I think its because out of all the people I knew who had chosen to fight for our country you were the actual first that I knew personally to loose their life in it. I remember us chilling at TSU, the talent show,(That was the first time I met Phyliss) house parties in Greystone, you being being there through my relationship to give me advice,whether you really wanted to or not you were there. Never really knew what advice to give to me but you did always try. Those are the things I'll always cherish. I look back and I laugh at the thought of how you just loved Soulja Boy and wore them ATL hats faithfully lol I still got one of your hats I snuck from you! and I try my best to laugh to keep from crying but truth is I Really do Miss You.. but I know you are in a better place looking down on your family and friends smiling. Your at home in heaven and finally at peace. The way it should be.

The Final Salute
“Brothers in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.
This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to our Brother-in-Arms, SPC Kedith L. Jacobs, U.S. Army. To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Kedith. And to Kedith it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the ultimate sacrifice he made for his country while opposing enemy forces in Afghanistan. Kedith you gave the last full measure of devotion for what you believed in and fought for. No greater love and patriotism are shown than when a man lays down his life in service to his country. Kedith, you are a brave American Warrior, a true Patriot and a national Hero. With your passing, our Country has lost a National Treasure. We bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at ease. Rest in Peace.
On behalf of the 1,261 members of Lowe-McFarlane Post 14 of the American Legion in Shreveport, Louisiana, I extend our sympathies and our condolences to Kedith's family and loved ones.
