Sandie,
My deepest sympathies. I will always remember the great New Year's Eve parties you threw with Earnie. I loved going to those as a kid. Know that I am thinking of you in this difficult time.
Much love,
Sarah Resick
Sandie: As I've been thinking about you this week, I also kept thinking about times I've spent with you and Earnie. I keep coming back to the same thing that always makes me smile. It helps me to think about it and I hope remembering this will put a smile on your face also.
I keep thinking of when Cyl and I visited you the November you had moved to Florida. You and Earnie were just starting to go to the "meet-up" events so Earnie did a lot of internet searching to find things that he thought would interest me and Cyl. And he found the best event of all! Knowing that we all liked "old" music, he found a free afternoon show by "The Three _____" I keep thinking Tenors, but I know that's not it. Anyways, we get there and we're shown to the back of a music studio where there are maybe a dozen or so people sitting around a few tables.
The show wasn't quite what we thought. The MC comes out and introduces "Dean Martin", I believe, and then goes behind a curtain and comes back with a wig on and starts to sing Dean Martin songs. By the time he started the second song, I had this humongous grin on my face. You, Cyl and Earnie were still just pretty much stone-faced. However, by the time "Dean" was finished and introduced "Frank Sinatra" (who happened to be the same guy with a different wig) I glanced over (since by now I had turned around from the stage and was wiping my eyes) and you had started to smile a little. By the time "Frank" was done and we were waiting for the next act, I glanced over and Cyl and Earnie finally gave in. We got out of there quickly - -thank goodness Cyl had that plane to catch. I don't think any of us can ever remember that withoug laughing.
Thinking of you always. Nancy
