IN RYOO Obituary
Age 73, of Moon Twp., passed away suddenly on August 27, 2015. He was born in Seoul, Korea, on November 19, 1941, a son of the late Hwa Sung Ryoo and Sung Ok (Lee) Ryoo. Dr. Ryoo was a Pediatric Doctor, having his own office in Moon Twp., and Kennedy Twp., for 40 years. He also worked out of Ohio Valley Hospital. He was an avid golfer, member of the Montour Country Club and also an Elder at the Korean Central Church of Pittsburgh. He is survived by his wife, Soo Ok Ryoo; children, Michael (Anne) Ryoo and Nancy Ryoo; grandchildren, Payton and Tabitha Ryoo. He is also survived by his brother, In Keun Ryoo; sister, In Sook Ryoo; sister-in-law, Nancy Ryoo; nephew, Simon (Ruby) Ryoo; and great-nephew, Matthew (Serena) Ryoo. Friends will be received in the HUNTSMAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, INC. OF MOON TWP. (1522 Coraopolis Hts. Rd., 15108), on Sunday from 5-7 p.m., Monday from 6-7 p.m., with a service at 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Korean Central Church of Pittsburgh, 821 S. Aiken Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15232, followed by committal in Resurrection Cemetery.

Dr Ryoo was an absolutely wonderful man. He was the pediatrician for myself, all my siblings, and for all 4 of my children. He will be truly missed.. Praying for the family..

To Dr. Ryoo's family: please accept our deepest condolences. We were all very sad to hear the news of Dr. Ryoo's passing. He was a very caring, sweet man and a wonderful pediatrician. He provided great care to all three of my children, now ages 5-15. I still have photos of my oldest son's first visit as a newborn with Dr. Ryoo. He really was a great doctor and person. My family and I are so grateful to have known such a wonderful, compassionate man. With his soft demeanor and kindness, all of his patients felt "at home"; sensed his sincerity and wholeheartedness in his care. We are so heartbroken to hear of the news of his passing.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Dr. Ryoo. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family and also his "work" family. Dr Ryoo has been my children's pediatrician for 20 years, and still are patients of his. He was definitely a great choice years ago when I was referred to him. I have never met Mrs. Ryoo or his children, but my condolences to you all. He served our children well, and he will be missed. RIP Dr. Ryoo! God Bless!

Dr. Ryoo was my son's pediatrician for 18 years and I could never have found a more caring physician anywhere. Even though my boys are grown, any time he saw them he remembered them and me. Our deepest condolences to Mrs. Ryoo and the Ryoo family. Such a sad loss we have experienced in losing such a great man as in Dr. Ryoo. He took care of all six of my children for over twenty years. When we moved across the city to Oakmont, we continued in his care, simply because there is none like him. He was always gentle, kind, thoughtful, and thorough. Making sure that the best care was being provided to the children. And he always left them smiling with a lollipop! Rest in peace Dr. Ryoo. Heaven has now been richly blessed. We will miss you dearly.

Deepest condolences fo your loss. Dr Ryoo was a wonderful man. When my son fell off his bike and injuried himself - he waited for me to get to his office to see my son even though his office was getting ready to close for the day. He was so patient - once my son knew he was getting a shot and locked himself in the bathroom and said I am not coming out I am not getting a hot - Dr Ryoo did not holler at him to come out - he just said - if you are stuck in the bathroom, he said don't worry I will get my screwdriver and open the door for you! then we just laughed. I hope for much peace and joy for him in heaven.

We have known Dr. Ryoo and his family over the past 30 years since we came to Pittsburgh. We were always impressed with his warm heart and caring mind. Dr. Ryoo often asked about our son's where-about and well-being even after his college period.
At church, Elder Ryoo had gracefully served as a sincere servant to God. His gentle personality and humble attitude always earned him a highest respect from church members. He had participated in oversea mission trips every summer, providing medical care/support for children/families there.
Among many Dr. Ryoo's gentle smiles will be greatly missed.

Dr Ryoo was a wonderful human being apart from being an excellent doctor. my kids loved him and we as a family always loved seeing him and were always amazed how calm and kind he was with the kids, my heart goes out to his family , he will be missed so dearly by everyone that knew him.

He was very kind and patient with all of my children especially my youngest who is afraid of needles. On our visit August 7th he calmed her down and gently held her face and talked to her. Patience is a virtue, which means that Dr. Ryoo, without a shadow of a doubt, was a virtuous man. Anyone still smiling after performing checkups and shots on 6 of us, now screaming/crying, kids deserves a gold statue erected in his likeness.

I was so saddened to hear of Dr. Ryoo's sudden passing. Our three children, now in their mid to late 30's, fondly remember their visits to see Dr. Ryoo. His was a life well lived kind and cheerful, humbly helping countless parents care for their children while serving his community. I was deeply impressed by his achievements and sensed that it was through very hard work and perseverance that he excelled professionally.
