As a fraternity brother (Phi Delta Theta, Penn State) I would suggest Jim was one of the (quietly) great people that I have ever met. He had so much talent and for the most part, he kept it to himself. I can't say it any better - he was one of the best, and he will be missed.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Stevenson family. I have many fond memories of growing up with Callie and Leslie and Mr. Stevenson was always so good to my family. When my brother was injured in 4th grade, he would call my parents frequently to make sure he was okay and see if there was anything he could do. He was always compassionate and funny. No better Penn State fan in the Universe. My deepest sympathy.

Big Jim Stevenson was a quite a guy. I graduated with Jim from My Lebo, but got a chance to spend some time with him on the golf course. Not as a player, but as a caddie for Jim and his Dad back in the 60's at St. Clair C.C. I also had the opportunity to have Jim hit me harder than I had ever been hit during football practice one day as a freshman. Believe it or not, I still think about that day from time to time, and wince each time. Jim was bigger than life, and a good, decent man, who I always respected for his humility, kindness, and that big ole smile. I'm so sorry to hear of his life ending so early. My prayers go out to everyone in his family.
