Cicely,
I was surprised and saddened to receive word of your loss. I will be thinking of you.
July 30, 2013
Dear Earl and Sue,

Ransom and I send our sincere condolences to you both on the passing of your Uncle Lucian, Earl. What a joy to have a wonderful mentor and friend in your life for so long.

May the living God bring you both much comfort and peace in the midst of your loss and grieving.

We love you,
Rance and Bonnie

Cicely:

It was a privilege to know your father. It was responsible for creating many roof tops that still stand today. I am sorry for your loss and will light a candle in Mary's Garden in honor of your father. My prayers are with you and your family.

Dear Cicely,

So sorry to learn of your father's passing.

Our family goes back many years. My father and Lucian's father and Uncle Tony were friends from Italy. As a matter of fact, my father arrived from Italy before your grandfather and Uncle Tony. Thus, my father had the opportunity to attend school so when Felix and Tony arrived from Italy my father began to teach them to read and
write in English to prepare them for their first job as carpenters on the riverboats in Pittsburgh. They were fine Italian carpenters.

I thought this little bit of history could be a part of your Memory Book.

I, too, knew your father. I had the privilege of seeing him often when he visited the Administration of Mercy Hospital while I was working for the chief administrator at Mercy. We exchanged family notes together during his visits.

I am just a little younger than your father -- I am just about ready for my 83rd birthday, so we do go back many years with with the Caste Family
having visited both Felix and Assunta and Tony and Lauretta (before she passed).

Your father was a brilliant man. I was proud to claim him as a long-time family friend. I will remember him in my prayers.

With sympathy,
Mary Paiano DiSalvo
