My late father Bob Ellis and I shared many years with Pete at United. My son Scott enjoyed the red riding tractor Pete generously gave him. Pete was a true gentleman and he loved to laugh. On behalf of my mother Louise and my son Scott I offer my deepest sympathy to the Kostopolis family.

I was very sorry to read of Pete's death. My late father and I worked with him at Wean United many years ago, and Pete was one of the nicest and friendliest people whom I have ever met. My sympathies go out to his entire family.

Dear Bill, Jon, & Cousins--Zoe se sas--Life to you!
And to all of us who mourn the passing of our larger-than-life Uncle Pete, Zoe se mas--Life to us! He was tempered by the hardship of his early life, a straight arrow who never wavered in his beliefs and approach. He inspired me and challenged me to question, to be curious, and to wonder. I will miss his stories, teeming with clarity and pathos as though he had just lived the moments he described, and many other things: his pride in his garden, his vasiliko on the window, his ability to fix anything, his way of ascertaining a problem, his love of bargains and of the Van Fleet rosebush that reminded him of his love, his crisply ironed shirts, his enthusiasm for cake-making and crockpot cooking, and his openness to new things at every age of life. He was an institution, and it is hard to believe he is gone.

Goodbye, dear Uncle! 'Til we meet again, may your memory be eternal!

"Cucumber to Tomato: Someone is waiting in Heaven to hold the light for you."
