Age 92, of Monroeville, on Saturday, December 14, 2013. Beloved wife for 67 years to the late Robert Firmin, who passed away on September 7, 2013; loving mother of Robert D. (Lynne) Firmin and Joyce A. (Michael) Weeber; grandmother of Brian and Justin (Jessica) Weeber; great-grandmother of Nausicaa and Hayden; sister of Arthur Wannlund, Jr. (the late Helen), and Wallace (Vivian) Wannlund; also survived by nieces and nephews. Arlene (Wannlund) was one of the first women in the state of Massachusetts to volunteer for the Women's Army Corps (WAC) during WWII. She had served as a sergeant in the Inspector General's office in North Africa and Italy. It was there she met Robert Firmin, who she married after the war. Friends will be received Tuesday, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., at the GENE H. CORL, INC. FUNERAL CHAPEL AND CREMATION SERVICES OF MONROEVILLE, 4335 Northern Pike, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Scott Gallagher, officiating. Interment will follow in Restland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family would greatly appreciate memorial contributions to the Garden City United Methodist Church, 500 Laurel Drive, Monroeville, PA 15146.
