I was so sad to hear of Rolf's death and my deepest sympathies are with Magda who must be missing him terribly. I have the loveliest memories of of them together: the tenderness of their bond was palpable. He will be greatly missed as a man who gave generously of his amazing scholarship to me and to many others, and in his passing, Ireland has lost a great friend. Magda, my thoughts and prayers are with you. With love, Patricia

Dear Magda,
Ellen and I are very saddened to hear of Rolf's passing. He was a kind, generous and intellectually gifted man. We hope your many years of wonderful memories of your times together will provide you with solace during this difficult time.

Dear Magda

Rolf (in partnership with you) poured amazing energy and commitment into every aspect of the architecture volume of The Art and Architecture of Ireland. It serves as one of many testaments to the exceptional range of his scholarship. I am sad to hear news of his death and send you much sympathy,

Sally

Dear Magda,
As you know, Rolf significantly changed the work of our organization, Contemporary Craft, when he first suggested that we consider using the lens of art to examine the subject of violence in an exhibition, resulting in Enough Violence: Artists Speak Out, followed by Mindful: Exploring Mental Health Through Art, and our current show, Shelter: Crafting a Safe Home. These traveling shows have impacted many other individuals across the country. He encouraged us to open our thinking about the possibility of addressing social justice through art and we will be forever grateful to him. Additionally, he was such a kind, generous, and dear friend, and he will be missed beyond measure. Our thoughts are with you.
