KLINE
THOMAS EDWARD, Sr.,
"PAP PAP TOM"
On Saturday, August 17th of Cheswick, formerly of Shaler, Township, at the age of 82, he passed away peacefully in Lawrenceville, not far from where he was born. As the fourth of five children to John and Anna (Helko) Kline, Thomas grew up in Lawrenceville playing sandlot football and graduated from Central Catholic High School. After marrying his beloved wife Marilyn Joan (McCann), he joined the US Marine Corps before settling down to raise a family. He was a proud machinist for Henry Miller Springs in Sharpsburg, where he missed one day of work in 40 years. Thomas and Marilyn raised their children Thomas Jr., David (Lynn), John, Alex (Ellen) and Mary Ellen Kline-Mattimore (John) in Shaler. He was heavily involved in his children's lives especially as a youth baseball coach for Dehaven AA where his teams won five consecutive championships. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 54 years Marilyn; his brother William, killed in World War II ,and his brother Richard as well as his beloved dog and best friend Mindy. In addition to his children, he leaves behind a sister Dorothy Matthews and brother John (Annette); loving grandfather to Chelsea, Alex, Tori, lizzie, JT, Mikayla, Krysta, Joey and Kara; brother-in-law to Jack and Cheryl McCann, Helen and Whitey Clemens, Loreen and David McLeod, Patricia Coli; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He will be greatly missed by everyone. Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 9 p.m. at the BOCK FUNERAL HOME, LTD., 1500 Mt. Royal Blvd. Glenshaw Mass of Christian Burial in St. Bonaventure Church Glenshaw on Wednesday at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to Central Catholic or St. Bonaventure School.
