Dear Chris and family,

David and I are saddened to hear of your loss. Tom was such great dad, husband, teacher and sailor. It was always invigorating to hear the stories of the sailing trips with your Flying Scot. You both were quite a team on and off the water.

I hope to see you soon, Chris. In the meantime do know that you are surrounded by love. We send our thoughts and prayers to you, Andrea, Paul and all the extended family.

Tom was a difference maker in my life. High school and college classmates, he helped me value long conversations, thinking, searching for truth, friendship, humor, and that the work involved in sailing transforms into joy when shared with a friend. I know his wife, children, grandchildren, friends, colleagues and his students over the years were and will remain graced by his presence always. With heartfelt gratitude to Tom, Vince McAndrew, Union, NE

I was in one of Doc's first classes back in the 70s. He was an interesting, teacher, excited about his material. I remember asking him why a PhD would be teaching a bunch of high school kids religion. His response was that he wanted the opportunity to try to help us learn to think. He did that - whether we wanted him to or not. He had a unique teaching style, often imitated, not duplicated. Doc was a character, one we're better for having had in our lives. Sincere condolences to all of Doc's family. Forever True, Doc. NC '74.

To all of Tom's family -
I am grateful for all I learned in the many years of working on the FPDT Exec. Board with Tom. His insights and honesty worked for the benefit of all Diocesan teachers.
My prayers are for his eternal rest and peace & comfort for all who will miss him.
Sincere condolences,
Cindy (Snatchko) Di Bello
