I met Father Crowley at Duquesne in 1992. For some reason I thought of him today and found his obituary. To this day I remember large portions of the conversations we had, his homilies and two poems he recited to me: One and Twenty by AE Housman and Thou Art Indeed Just by Gerard Manley Hopkins. God be with you Father.

A brilliant man and an awesome journalism teacher. Spent many a day typing his manuscripts. My condolences to his family.

Like hundreds of young people from Chicago's Southeast Side, my life's path was altered and new opportunities presented to me because Father Crowley taught and cared about me. I have never forgotten him.

I graduated from St. Francis in Chicago. All of my classmates will never forget him. His influence has touched us all, to this day. I'm sure he is lecturing on the other side! Rest in peace dear Fr. Crowley.
