Charles Lavie Deville, Sr.
Pineville - A private Mass of Christian Burial for Charles Lavie Deville, Sr. will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 31, 2020, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Pineville with Father Walter Ajaero and Reverend Matt Woollett officiating. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, it is requested that only immediate family attend. Burial will follow at the Libuse Czech Cemetery, under the direction of Hixson Brothers, Pineville. A video of the service will be available for viewing on the Hixson Brothers website.
Mr. Deville, 90, of Pineville passed from this life, Saturday, December 26, 2020, at CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini surrounded by his family.
He was a 1949 graduate of Menard Memorial High School. He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, Pineville for 65 years. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. During his working career he was an AT&T Technician for over 30 years. He was a member and past president of the Telephone Credit Union, and a member of the Telephone Pioneers. One of his joys was the annual trip to the family squirrel hunting camp. He liked to duck hunt and fish and was an avid golfer. His best friend and love of his life was his wife, Mary Ann, with whom he had been married for 65 years. He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather and enjoyed telling jokes and making others laugh.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Manuel and Ida Irene Foster Deville; brother, Frank Deville; sisters, Virgie Aymond, Sister Ida Marie Deville, CDP, Helen Knowles, Arden Ehrensing and Ruth Wheelahan.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Mary Ann Prochaska Deville; sons, Charles Jr. (Mary), James (Scott), and Bryan (Becky); daughters, Julie Sanders (Richard), Angelique Todd (Steve); sister, Shirley Leonard; nine grandchildren; David Deville (Sarah), Ryan Ouber (Richard), Martin Martinez, Evan Sanders (Jenna), Nicole Sanders, Elizabeth Brown (Derek), Lauren Oray (Jonathan), Anna Fontenot (Grant), Luke Todd, and eight great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Blvd., Memphis, TN 38105.
