WITTENBERG, Eleanor D., 95 of Land O' Lakes, passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2013. She was born in St. Paul, Minn. and moved to Florida in 1977. Eleanor served in the United States Army as a nurse during World War II. She was a member of Congregation Schaarai Zedek, Tampa. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lionel "Witty" Wittenberg. Eleanor is survived by her two daughters, Bobbe Poggi and her husband Maurice of Montreal, Qu‚bec, Canada, Shari Wittenberg and her husband Douglas Hewitt of Elizabeth City, N.C.; grandson, Matthew Poggi of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Interment will be at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida. Services will be private. Donations may be made in memory of Eleanor to Baldomero Lopez State Veterans' Nursing Home, Land O'Lakes, Fla.
