Larry Williams Sr. MARION Larry Berton Williams Sr., 70, of Emerald Cove Rd. in Marion, died Monday, April 1, 2013, at the Hospice House of Rutherfordton County in Forest City. Born June 4, 1942, in Buncombe County, he was the son of the late Glenn Berton Williams and the late Margie Lucille Pinkerton Williams. He loved his job and therefore worked a combined 43 years for Jimeson Hardware in Marion and Grassy Creek Hardware in Spruce Pine. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and photography. He attended Hicks Chapel Baptist Church. Mr. Larry Berton Williams Sr. is survived by his wife, Mary Byrd Williams, of the home; son, Larry Berton Williams Jr. and wife, Tammy and daughter, Angela Autrey and husband, Danny, both of Marion; grandchildren, Rosanna Nicole Clark, Larry Berton Williams III and Rebekah Rose Autrey, all of Marion and Daniel Cody Autrey, of USMC stationed in Japan; great-grandchildren, Wiley Clark and Wyatt Clark, both of Marion; sister, Glenna McCracken, of Marion; and brother, Steve Williams, of Spruce Pine. The funeral service for Larry Berton Williams Sr. will be conducted today (Thursday, April 4), at 3 p.m. at the Hicks Chapel Baptist Church in Marion, with the Revs. Chad Wise and Mark Hollifield officiating. Interment will follow in the Hicks Chapel Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends this afternoon, from 2 to 3 p.m. at the church. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions for the funeral expense may be made to Webb Funeral Home. Webb Funeral Home in Spruce Pine is assisting the Williams family.
