Manfred Acker Obituary

Manfred F. Acker, 68 years old of Antioch, IL passed away Sunday, October 19, 2008 at Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital, Milwaukee, WI.

He was born June 12, 1940 in Frankfort, Germany, the son of the late Heinrich and Else (Sauter) Acker. Fred was a graduate of the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago. He moved to Antioch in 1977 where he was a member of St. Peter Church and also attended St. Benedict Abbey in Benet Lake, WI. Before his retirement he worked as a production/industrial engineer at TRW Cinch in Elk Grove Village, IL. On February 4, 1976 he married Maria Antonia Villarreal in Chicago.

Survivors include his wife if 32 years, Antonia; his son, Henry Acker of Antioch; his mother, Else Acker of Lake Geneva, WI; his stepchildren, Susie (Dennis) Chlopek of Minooka, IL, Marcaile Lamango and Mary Anna (Tim) Shenkel both of Chicago; his six grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and his sister, Wanda Pomorski of New York, NY.

Funeral service with Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, October 23, 2008 at St. Benedict Abbey, Benet Lake, WI. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held at the STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH, 1055 Main St. (Rte 83) from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM Wednesday. Please sign the guest book at www.strangfh.com
