SESSER - Melvin Thomas Hamilton, 88, died in VA Medical Center in Marion, at 5:20 p.m. Dec. 18, 2013.
He was the former owner of the Print Shop in Sesser.
He was a member of North Benton Baptist Church in Benton.
Melvin was born Sept. 12, 1925, in McLeansboro, to Warner and Ida G. (Turtine) Hamilton.
He was a Navy veteran serving during World War II.
He married Iva Lea (Wyer) Hamilton and she preceded him in death.
Survivors include children, Ralph and Cindy Hamilton of Christopher, Nancy and Lee Kinsey of Sesser, Norma and Daryl Webb of Ewing, Melvin Randal and Katty Hamilton of Pheenix, Ala., and Richard and Michelle Hamilton of Colorado Springs, Colo.; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Effie Tevebaugh of McLeansboro, Charles Hamilton of Lincoln, Helen Haynes of Denver, Colo., and Anna Lee Cox of Cumming, Ga.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; two sisters; and one brother.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 22, in Brayfield-Gilbert Funeral Home in Sesser, with Brother Mark Minor officiating. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery in McLeansboro. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Whittington Church or to Veteran's Tribute.

I am so sorry to hear of Tom's passing. My husband, Larry, and he worked together at Sesser and remained lifelong friends. He was one of the nicest men I ever had the privilege to know. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

So sorry we won't be able to attend either the visitation or services. This is the weekend for Diane's extended family gathering at Daryl's. We won't return in tine to pay our respects. You will be in our thoughts as you always are as you are very dear to us. Don and Diane
