Merele Ellerbeck Obituary

Ellerbeck, Merele G.

Merele G. Ellerbeck, born October 27, 1917, passed away peacefully May 4, 2014. Merele grew up in a farming community near Neola, Iowa. He was a T/Sgt. in the U.S. Air Force serving in North Africa during WWII. He married Marian Thomas of Neola in 1942. They had two sons: Larry and Lenny. Merele worked as a nutrition specialist in the animal milk division of Land O'Lakes. They moved to Mesa, AZ in 1976 and returned to Lincoln, NE in 2006. He was preceded in death by his wife Marian and son Lenny. He is survived by his son Larry and his wife Kathie of Lincoln; daughter-in-law Mary Ellerbeck of Omaha; daughter-in-law Linda Ellerbeck of Denver, CO; grandchildren, Michael and Nancy Ellerbeck of Chandler, AZ, Mark and Robin Ellerbeck of Schleswig, IA, Jane and Mark Donnelly of Spring Lake, MI, Shelly and Josh Caufman of Omaha; 8 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter.
VISITATION Friday, May 16th 12 noon to 1pm followed by FUNERAL SERVICE at 1pm all at funeral home. Interment Ridgewood Cemetery with military rites by American Legion Post 2. Merele was very active in his church and memorials are suggested to Our Saviours Lutheran Church, 1200 S. 40th St., Lincoln, NE 68506. CUTLER-O'NEILL-MEYER-WOODRING
