Robert William Hart Robert William (Bill) Hart of the Terrace at Grove Park in Dothan died on Wednesday, May 1, 2013. He was 82 years old. Mr. Hart was born in River Falls, AL, and grew up in the Red Level and Andalusia area. After serving in the U.S. Army in the Korean War, he began working in 1955 for Mack Electric Supply Co., later acquired by Mayer Electric Company. He moved to Dothan in 1967 working as a salesman, Sales Manager and Operations Manager for the business, retiring from the company in 1995. Mr. Hart also was a draftsman and homebuilder, and designed and sold several homes in Dothan before retiring from that profession in 2000. Mr. Hart's favorite hobby was flying airplanes. He flew for more than 40 years earning commercial, multi-engine and instructor ratings. He piloted more than 30 different kinds of aircraft and grounded himself at the age of 70. Mr. Hart was an active deacon serving in several leadership capacities for the First Baptist Church of Dothan before joining the First United Methodist Church. He is survived by Georgette, his wife of 64 years, one son, Robert A. Hart of Green Mountain, NC, and one daughter, Susan, and her husband, Gary, of Nashville, TN. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First United Methodist Church "In Christ's Name" at 1380 West Main Street, Dothan, AL, 36301. At his request, there will be no services.
