On Monday, March 18, 2013, Heavenly Father called one of his very special souls, Sharlene Dianne (Gordon) Davis, home. She passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family at the home of her son, Ryan, after bearing many years of health challenges.
Sharlene was born in Bremerton, Wash., on March 27, 1941, to James (Jim) and Wilma Gordon. She lived most of her childhood and youth in Seattle.
She attended the University of Washington, where she met Jay Neil Davis. They were married in August 1962. While he served as a naval officer, they made their home in several locations, including California, Maryland, Connecticut and Hawaii. They eventually settled in Idaho, where they raised their beautiful family.
It is not possible to reduce the magnitude of Sharlene's influence in this world to a few words. All those who knew and loved her will miss her.
Sharlene was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Wilma, and two grandchildren, Courtney and Andrew.
She is survived by her husband, Jay; their five children and spouses, Sean and Candice, Erin and Steve, Ashli and Brandon, Ryan and Hayee, and Tim and Susan; and 23 grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 23, at the Shelley 10th Ward LDS church, 1555 N. 700 East in Woodville, Idaho, with an open house at the church from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Saturday. Arrangements are under the direction of Nalder Funeral Home.
Condolences can be sent to the family at www.nalderfuneralhome.com.

We were saddened to read of Sharlene's death. We have lost track of Jay & Sharlene, but remember $1000 check that they offered us when things were tight. We have been able to do the same for others we know. We love you Jay & want you to know. Jay & Jane Cook
