Laverne "Bird" Williams passed into the loving arms of God on July 30, 2010, at the age of 52. Born February 7, 1958, she attended the Indiana School for the Deaf in Indianapolis and graduated from Lew Wallace High School in Gary, Indiana. Laverne was an adoring and devoted mother and is survived by her three sons, Jeremy, Joshua, and her son, Jordan, who was close by her side for the last four years. Laverne helped raise her nephew, Leland, and niece, Brianna. Brianna and Rose were also kind and tender caregivers to Laverne.
