Dr. Hess brought me and my brother into the world. He was our family physician for over 35 years. We also remember his nurse Loretta well. While we've had competent physicians since, we'll never have the kind of doctor patient relationship we had with Dr. Hess. He was our friend too. Our thoughts are with the family at his passing; you can be very proud of Ivan. We are proud to have known him.

Dear Hess Family
I am so so sorry for your loss...Dr Hess was a wonderful friend and Dr.....I had him from the time I was 6 years old until he retired (I was 50)...it was so hard to find a replacement....I always remember hearing him say after I had a baby, to the nurses....birth is a miracal....how many did he see and to still feel that way...I had cronic lung problems all my life and he would come to the house when I was a kid to give me shots...and did the same for my children,....I remember him comming in his 57 Chevy....it was green....rest in peace, Dr Hess...you were loved...
Dear Thelma & family, Our deepest sympathy to you on the death of Ivan. We go back a long time when he was our doctor and have many fond memories of both of you. We think of you often even though we are in FL now the past 6 years but just want you to know you are forever in our prayers
Sending the family sympathy and warm thoughts during this time. My time at Ursinus College and the Berman Museum of Art was made special by his support and interest in all that we were doing. Thelma and Ivan would come to receptions and were always happy! My best to Erich, too, who has helped us with research and good guidance with the Pennsylvania Redward collection. My best, Lisa
Our prayers and sympathies go out to the family during thus time of mourning. Ivan was a fellow Rotarian and our family doctor for many years. You could not find a more caring physician or friend. He will always be remembered fondly.

My deepest sympathies to the Dr. Hess Family. Dr. Hess was awesome. He delivered me (in 1964) and was my family doctor till he retired. I remember asking him about the deer mounted in his office when I was a kid. Don't remember the whole story, but it ended up being a long one. Thanks, Dr. Hess, for all the years of making me well, even when I had to get a shot of penicillin (in the butt!).
Dr. Hess was the most wonderful doctor of his time. He was our family doctor since my mother was a child until he retired. Dr. Hess was a truly compassionate man and a great asset to the medical field. My mother and I often spoke of the days of going to him and always had a special place in our hearts for him. The world has lost a great person and we are truly sorry for your loss.
