Thinking of You on your 51st Birthday 7/4/13
I am shocked and saddened to hear of Leon's passing. We were at Bucknell University together. I will always remember him as a good guy with a ready smile who loved to have good times.
I was in shock when i receive this news and it brought a tear to my eye instantly. Leon was a "best friend" at one point in my life, phenomenal, dynamic person who was so kind, caring and yes competitive.I spent many hours on the oourt with him, trying to improve my game and be challenged by his wisdom and athletcism, loved it.Lots of laughs and i'll never forget that SMILE, it's one of those "special ones" and as Lisa Strickler mentioned, do not forget that TWINKLE in his eye. A special person who touched the lives of many is gone too soon ,yet his memory will live on. Terribly sorry for your Crystal, your family is in my prayers. RIP, "best friend."
Michele( aka "Reds" to Leon)
I will always remember Leon as smiling...we shared alot of great times together especially during basketball season. He was a classmate of mine and one of the best. When I think of him I always smile. He had a way of making you do that. Crystal, I'm so sorry for your loss. My sympathies go out to the his family. His memory will always be kept alive thru our hearts

When I first heard the news, all I could think was "Oh No!". Leon was my classmate at PHS. What a wonderful guy, always smiling. He will be truly missed by everyone he knew. My thoughts and prayers are with the family at this difficult time.
Pat and family, I am praying for you during this difficult time. May God comfort you.
I loved Leon Gibbs. Always have, always will. When I found out about this just one hour ago this Memorial Day, I was already planning my flight when I realized I was one week behind.
Although Leon and I have not seen each other for years when we lived in Miami, I thought of him often and always knew he would continue to make a difference to so many people.
I looked up to Leon Gibbs Jr. His smile and laugh was contagious and could light up a room and he was so friendly and kind to everyone. I believe there is not one person on this planet who has met Leon that did not instantly like him.
Leon, you have touched so many people in ways that you will never know, and I regret that I did not have a chance to tell you, how much you touched me in a time of my life when it would have been easy not to.
You were very good to me and I will forever love you and be your friend.
May God Bless & sustain at this difficult time....you are in our prayers....Barry & Rose Nealy
Stay strong to the family and Leon was a great teammate while playing softball at schullies and franks rip good buddy.
To Miss Pat, Mr. Johnny, Sissy & Crystal -I am sorry I could not be with you at this time - I never knew Clay, the man, my memory of Clay was that of a little guy who used to follow me around at church and so often make me laugh. From his picture, I see his smile has just grown wider and I am sure his laughter more infectious. May the memories of your son & brother bring a smile to your face, and brighten future days. I love you all and pray God's peace will envelop you!
I went to school with Leon in Pottstown many years ago! Reading these comments it is obvious Leon remained the same wonderful person he was back then, That ever present smile and TWINKLE in his eye will never be forgotten! My thoughts and prayers are with the family.
Lisa (Strickler) Brant

We will miss you. Such an amazing person and father. We lost a dear friend that had became more like family.
We only know Leon for a year yet we recognize the same feelings others have posted. Leon was a great man and we were lucky to have known him for the short while we did. Our heart felt sympathies to his family and kids he coached. He always spoke of his wife and kids with such respect and love. I am sure he is still watching over you, that kind of love never dies.

My deepest sympathy to the Gibbs family and my heart goes out to Clayton. Leon and I worked together at Meridan Bank years ago, he was always very polite, a gentleman and kept a smile on his face. We have stayed in touch through out the years as we are both actively involved in the Black Top organization. We also attended many sporting events and Clayton was always by his side. We would also pass each other on the highway in the mornings as Leon drove the school bus and I'm on my way to work, waving and smiling. Leon is truly one of the hardest working men I know in providing for his family. I will miss our catch up chats. God has another job in store for you now. May God bless the family and comfort you in this time of sorrow, cherish the memories.
Pat, so sorry to hear about your Son. My prayers and thoughts are with and your family. May God give you all strength as you travel this road.

I was saddened beyond words to read the news of Leon's death. I knew him only briefly, but can say that I honestly have met few people in my life who were as genuinely friendly and happy as Leon. I know that God will bless him for the dedicated service he brought to the children he coached and mentored. My life is richer for having known him, even as briefly as I did. I know that he enriched countless other's with his friendship as well and the accounting of his life will show that he gave much more than he received. I pray for God's comfort on his family.
