I never knew or met Dr. Gregory during his lifetime. My association with him is of an extremely Divine nature. I will explain.

During my morning prayer on the day after Thanksgiving, Nov. 26, 2016 I heard God speak a name. There was no explanation only the title and name. The spoken words were, Dr. Richard Irving.

Who in the world is Dr. Richard Irving? I thought to myself but when I hear God's voice as clear as that morning I knew the name (and thus the man) were significant for me. I began an internet search.

Many Dr. Richard Irving's appeared in the search results. Most were medical doctors of varying specialties. Since I have no significant physical issues the medical doctors had no relevance for me. Were I sick perhaps one who specialized in whatever was ailing me would have had relevance but I am in excellent physical condition. I kept searching knowing that God would not speak a name so clearly without meaning or purpose.

Eventually I came across the obituary of Dr. Richard Irving Gregory. What triggered the search result was the way the name was listed on Legacy.com which was: GREGORY, DR. RICHARD IRVING Church Leader Sept. 24, 1935 - July 23, 2013. I read the obituary and saw that he was a 50 year plus ministry leader.

I am currently 60 and the senior pastor of a church but I am nowhere near retiring. I believe from God's direct word and grace that my greatest accomplishments are ahead of me, not behind but that I am in the latter half. I plan to live to 116 (if I follow His directions) so I am only two years into the latter half.

I saw that Dr. Gregory had written two books. I purchased the Kindle version of Ministry Matters and began reading it this morning. The book began speaking about finishing strong without extreme stumbles. This may be one reason that God spoke the name for already the first few pages of the book has had an impact and I imagine by the time that I finish the book it will have had even more impact.

I ordered the physical copy of the book On The Level since it was not available in electronic format. One The Level is about relationships and Dr. Gregory's birthdate is also my wedding anniversary date.

I also paid for the guestbook to remain online permanently.

Thus is my story of my association and blessing from Dr. Gregory and his continuing influence in the earth realm.

Respectfully,

I cannot begin to express my love and gratitude for Pastor Gregory bringing me to our Lord Jesus Christ. I now know that I too will be reunited with him, my loved ones and Jesus someday in the not too distant future.

He will be greatly missed but his legacy will carry on until our Lord returns! Prayers for all -- especially Carol.
