Tonight I was sitting in my living room in VA and I went on-line; I was looking for an article and I saw one from the Poughkeepsie Journal, my old hometown newspaper. After reading the article I was compelled to hit the obituary link; I was hit between the eyes, Oscar Haas is gone! Oscar was one of my best High School Friends, fellow Football player, and Groomsmen in our Wedding. He was always bright and giving, and it appears that that did not change in his life. He will be truly missed; a little piece of him will always be with me.

I only knew Oscar for a short time but was always happy to spend time to listen and reflect. You left us too early my friend.

Oscar was more than a "friend" to our family. We spent many holidays together and always enjoyed many laughs together. Our extended family will surely miss his everlasting smile. He may not be with us physically, but he will most certainly be forever in our hearts. Our sincere condolences to his sister and brother-in-law and his in-laws of whom he spoke of with love often. Rest in peace, friend. Bill & Linda Fort, Kelly Fort-Wai & Alvin Wai and many Fort family members
