Tarquini
Poughkeepsie, NY - Rose Marie Contelmo Tarquini entered into eternal peace on Sunday July 20th, 2014. She was born September 23, 1926 in Wappinger Falls, the daughter of Carmela Stellavato and Aloysius A. Contelmo.
Rose attended St. Mary's school and graduated from Wappingers Central School in 1945. On September 11, 1949 she married Larry Tarquini of Beacon, NY., at Saint Mary's Church in Wappingers Falls, NY. Rose and Larry enjoyed 58 years of marriage, until his passing in November of 2007.
She is survived by brother and sister in law; Nicholas and Christina Contelmo, sister-in law Lena Tarquini Prestiani. God-daughter, niece Maryann Pilon, husband Michael Pilon and her grand niece and nephew Lea and Cole Pilon. As well as nephews, James Contelmo and Donna Contelmo and their children Jeffrey and Alicia, Jeffrey and Sharon Contelmo and their daughter Celia. Her extended family includes many nieces, nephews, and grand nieces of the Tarquini family. She was pre-deceased by her younger brother Ally Contelmo in 1951.
Rose mostly enjoyed spending time with her extended family and sharing memories with them, she will be deeply missed.
The family extends special thanks to the staff and friends that Rose encountered at the Manor at Woodside, and with heartfelt gratitude to Nicola Rivera her personal care giver.
There will be no calling hours: a Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday July 23, 2014 at 10:00AM at St. Mary's Church in Wappinger Falls, N.Y. Burial St. Marys Cemetery. Arrangements are in charge of the Delehanty Funeral Home, Wappingers Falls. To send a condolence or for directions, visit www.delehantyfuneral.com. Rose you were a wonderful woman. I will never forget the friendship you gave my dad and mom when they first arrived at the Manor. You were a good friend to me too.
