To The McManus Family: Rose and I are so sorry for your loss! We had many good times with Don especially in the world of politics. He was an exceptional man with a great heart. I was elected to the Broome County Legislature the same year that Don was elected as Broome County Executive. It was an honor to serve with him. We hope you can find some comfort in knowing that Don was well liked by everyone and that he is in a better place now! Love To All!!!
Dear Kathleen and Family,
I was very saddened to hear of Don's passing last Tues. We went through St Ambrose and U-E together. I
always remember the people I went to St Ambrose with. Always remember 9th grade when they allowed us to eat lunch outside of school. Don and I would walk to the E-J Diner and get their .30 cent meal which was great. My fondest memory was walking down the alley behind McLeans,Klines,Woolworth etc. to get to the Diner. I think Fran Magee used to join us frequently. They were memorable walks!
Don was a great guy then and he never changed all through his life. My
wife, Jackie, and I will keep Don in our prayers until our final Reunion in
the future.
Jack Hardman
Kat: It is hard for me to say "Mac" without saying Kat & Mac which was the way it always was in our childhood days at UE.Not enough room for me to describe Dons' character and personality! It was a honor for me to have played on the same basketball team with with him in 1952. He always radiated sincerity and care for people. A true christian!!
To Don's Family my sincere condolences on the passing of the most sincere Gentleman I have had the pleasure to meet.I remember as his neighbor on robble Ave and driving that big Cadillac with his signs for Executive for over a month on the roof of my car and anxiously awaiting the results and when I heard i ran to the house with such happiness to congratulate him.Walking down Oak Hill as a kid and peeking our heads in the printing Press building and he always with a kind word for us and encouragement to be good kids.It was there that even as a kid you knew he was destined to be well liked and a hard worker. He was such a giving person and family focused in attending what seemed and I am sure was every game his kids and grandchildren played in ,coached or attending to watch another team.He was a role model to be a Dad for so many I am sure.Rest in Peace Don,you deserved the good llife,a great Famiy and God's blessing. We will miss you

Kathleen,Ron
May your memories bring smiles and some comfort in the passing of your dad.
My sincere condolences to you and your family.
Growing up on the North Side of Endicott (and knowing the McManus Family for as long as I can remember), I was deeply saddened to hear of Don's passing. It is a loss felt by the entire community. His public service is part of what made Endicott such a unique and wonderful place to grow up in. But, it is his constant presence at St. Anthony's and with his family, as well as his warm and generous smile that I will always remember. It is difficult to imagine Endicott or the McManus Family without him. My love to Kathleen and all her children and grandchildren.
With love,
Teri (Caminiti) Oberleitner
