Macko, John
Endicott: John Macko, 90, of Endicott, passed away Sunday, February 2, 2014, at the Ideal Senior Living Center. He was predeceased by his wife, Lois (Colley) Macko; his brothers, George, Michael and Charles Macko; his sister, Anna Kahanick. He is survived by three children, Darlene (Dennis) Leonard of Endicott, David (Nicoletta) Macko of Florida, Penny Smart of Connecticut; seven grandchildren, Christopher Cacialli, Angela (Lew) Briggs, Rebecca Freeman, Valerie Macko, Vanessa Macko and fiancé, Victor, Tiffani Jarnigan, Justin Jarnigan; five great-grandchildren, Abagale and Jordan Cacialli, Tristan and Kierstan Briggs, Zoey Macko; two sisters, Helen Macko and Betty Howrilka, both of Endicott; also several nieces and nephews. He was a retired employee of IBM Endicott, a former Village of Endicott Bingo Inspector, and a veteran of the US Army, serving during WWII. He was a member of St. Mary's Orthodox Church, Endicott, the American Legion, Post 82, The Endicott Elk's Lodge #1977, and the ACRC. John was a kind and gentle man who was always willing to help anyone. He was an avid golfer, bowler, and handyman that could fix anything. The family wishes to thank the entire staff of Ideal Nursing Center Daisy Court for the care and compassion that was shown to John during his stay. Funeral services will be held Thursday 9:30 a.m. from the Leon Pucedo Funeral Home, Inc., 1905 Watson Blvd., Endicott and at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Orthodox Church, 1907 Jenkins St., Endicott. Burial will follow in Riverhurst Cemetery, Endwell. The family will receive friends at the Pucedo Funeral Home on Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. The Rev. Michael Kleban will hold Parastas (Prayer Service) Wednesday 7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to the Veterans Memorial Association.

I think about you often and all the wonderful things you did for your father during his long decline. You are such a wonderful caring daughter.
Now it's God's time to enjoy the wonderful man your dad was, and to comfort you in your sadness. Your memories are a very strong way to keep his memory alive forever.
