Ken Bryant Obituary

Bryant, Ken

Ken Bryant, 79, of Little Meadows, passed away Sunday, June 8, 2014, after a long battle with COPD. Ken was predeceased by his wife of 51 years, Pat, in 2011. He was also predeceased by his grandson, David; brothers, Homer, Donald, Willard and Bruce; father-in-law, Fred Ashcraft; sisters-in-law, Susan Wagner and Ghette Bryant. Ken is survived by his children, Debbie Oakes, Ken Bryant and fiancée, Karen Fabian, Andy Bryant; his grandchildren, Jessica Bryant, Brad Bryant, Elizabeth Bryant; step-grandchildren, Evan & Connor Fabian; brother, Chauncey Bryant; mother-in-law, Norma Ashcraft; sisters and brothers-in-law, Rae Bryant, George Wagner, Gene and Linda Ashcraft, Burt and Betsy Baldwin, John and Sarah Ashcraft; two very special nieces, Barb Haskins and Jean Motsko; son-in-law, Allen Oakes; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Ken was a well respected excavation contractor; he owned Ken Bryant Excavating of Little Meadows, PA and in the early days of his career, was co-owner of Ashcraft and Bryant Excavating in Florida, Georgia and Pennsylvania. Ken proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged at the rank of SSgt. He loved to garden, the outdoors, hunting and was especially fond of crows and feeding deer. He enjoyed his Sunday morning visits with his nephew, Scott Bryant, drinking coffee and eating donuts while they caught up on the weekly gossip. We would like to thank his doctors for their great care of Dad throughout his illness-Dr. Ian Stuppel and his nurse Jill, of Lourdes, Owego; Amy Welch, P.A. at the VA in Sayre and Dr. Jose Pacheco of Lourdes Pulmonology. A special thank you to Luann and her caring staff. Services will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Little Meadows Rescue Squad, PO Box 329, Little Meadows, PA 18830.
