Although I left home for the Navy in 1985 and didn't get home much, I have many fond memories of Penny, as well as Tim and Jay. They were more like siblings than cousins. Penny will be missed but the memories will live on.

When Penny was very young some of us would sing the lyrics from a Bing Crosby tune to her. It's title was 'Pennies from heaven.' Although we did imply 'Penny's.' This bothered her at this time and she would be upset. I really don't know who started it although a safe bet would be me although it could have been her mother, or her older brother Tim, or her younger brother Jay. Each time someone sang this song it would be greeted with the same reaction.
As I was 16 years older than she was I had periodically taken care of them all while her mother worked.
Several years ago while she was visiting I asked her what upset her about this song. Her reply was, ' I don't know, it just bothered me.' She mentioned that it didn't bother her anymore.
I now cherish those lyrics as 'Penny was truly from heaven for you and me.'
Penny, we love you and miss you,
Uncle Doug

Just got news. We are crushed! Known her past 15 years, but moved out of state. The world just got ripped off. Never knew her last name, or anything about her life. But we sure knew enough! From our initial meeting with her and our Cocoa Puff, we weren't sure exactly what she possessed, but we sure knew that we, and everyone else, needed much more of it. Our Cocoa is near the front of that long line at Rainbow Bridge, welcoming her. No words can sum up the emotions that we are feeling. God created dogs as the perfect example of unconditional love. Penny treated them all, and their owners, with that same reciprocity. Now God will reward her in heaven with eternal love and peace. We will forget her NEVER.

It is necessary at times for owners to entrust the care of their pets to others. We could not have asked for anyone better than Penny to care for our dogs. Our condolences to her family, friends, staff and customers, two lgged and four. George and Joyce Thomas

I will miss Penny terribly. Not only because she was all the things others here have said but also because she was a consummate professional--and I TRUSTED her. When I dropped my little 'best friends' off for the day, I never looked back, never worried while they were in her care. I can't put a price on that.

Now I think of Penny each time I see Scooter's back-end skirt sway just so-- or when I feel Wicket's perfectly trimmed teddy-bear ears--AND as I hold between my fingers the perfect knot she last tied in bow and bandana. I'll keep them in a special place, along with my feelings for and memories of Penny. We've lost a treasure, but the dogs in her life (& those who would have been) have lost so much more.

We are absolutely heartbroken and are especially devestated that we are just finding out that Penny has passed away! Penny, you were such a wonderful individual with a loving & caring heart. I have always been lifted hearing your voice say "I'm in the tubby..." Through the lives of four of our springers, Penny has touched ours deeply. May your family and loved ones be comforted in your time of grieving your loss. We'll miss you greatly...
