On behalf of the 30th Field Artillery Regiment Association we extend our condolences to the family of Robert Bethje. Robert served honorably with our 30th FA Bn in Germany in the early 1950s. He was a true Hard Charger for his entire life, and we praise him for his service. May he rest in peace.

My deepest sympathy's to your family on your loss of such an amazing man and doctor. I was fortunate enough to "grow up" around the office at Riverfront Medical Services, while my mom, Nora worked with Dr.Bethje and I loved his knowledge and hearing his stories(and jokes) as well as seeing his compassion for people. My mom had the utmost respect and admiration for "Dr.B" as she called him and she missed him a lot after leaving the company. Now they will see each other again up in heaven and share their stories once again. But this community has lost an amazing individual & advocate for sure! RIP Dr.Bethje.

my deepest sympathy to the Bethje family.i was very fortunate one day to sit with Dr.Bethje at Binghamton general hospital while his son was having a medical procedure.Dr.Bethje talked fondly of his wife and told me how they met and a lot of stories of Germany and his doctoring years.i will never forget that day as I had learned so much from Dr.Bethje in just that short time we spent together.Dr.Bethje was an amazing man and touched me in a way that I will carry with me always.keep all of the wonderful memories dear to your heart and know that Dr.Bethje is now at peace and with the Love of his life.

I am saddened to hear of your loss, but I have to tell you my story. I was 12 or 13 years old when Dr Bethje and Dr Murphy saved my life, I had been a very sick little girl for a week, and had ruptured appendix, they did my surgery . I will forever be grateful to them for that, I was in ICU for a week and in the hospital for several weeks. The doctors told my mom , I had two chances , I was young and I was strong. Three weeks later they operated on my sister Joan as well , with the same thing , except hers had not ruptured yet. I am so thankful for his years of doctoring and so grateful to God that He used them to help me when I needed it. I would of loved to tell him how thankful I am to him!!! May God be with you through this difficult time. Sincerely,
