Lillie, Roger E.
Utica: Roger E. Lillie, 87, formerly of Vestal, NY and currently a resident of the Masonic Care Community in Utica, NY, passed away on February 22, 2014. He was predeceased by his parents, Oscar and Helen Lillie and brothers, Paul Lillie and Laurance Hover. He is survived by his sister, Jean Lillie; sister-in-law, Dorothy Lillie; and nieces, Joan (Gary) Knewasser, Diane Whipple, all of Vestal and Janice (Ronald) Rockefeller of Surprise, AZ; as well as several great nieces and nephews. Roger was a member of the Johnson City Unity Lodge 970 where he was a past secretary and Mason of the Year in 1998. He was the Shriner of the Year in 1995 at the Kalurah Shrine Temple in Endicott. Roger was also a life member of the BPOE Elks Lodge 1977 in Endicott. The military was a huge part of Roger's life. He was a 22 year retiree after serving with the Merchant Marines, Army, and ending his career as a National Secretary with the Air Force. Roger was a member of the American Legion Post 1700 in Endicott and a Past Commander and life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1449. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 1st, at 10:00 a.m. at Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, LLC, 300 E. Main St., Endicott. The Rev. Jose Velencia will officiate. Family will receive friends from 9 to 10 before the service. Burial will take place immediately following the service at Vestal Park Cemetery, Main St., Vestal. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Roger's memory to Kalurah Shriner Transportation Fund, 625 Dickson St., Endicott, NY 13760.

We were so sad to hear of Roger's passing. He was a very special man. It was wonderful to read of all he had accomplished in his life in his obituary. Although we can't be with you while you all remember Roger, please know that you're in our thoughts from afar.
