I'll miss Barney. He was my teammate for both bowling and softball. He was my boss for a short while. We went to church together but most of all he was my loved and highly respected friend. I offer my sympathy to all of you. Linda and I know many if not most of you and we care deeply for you and we send our love and condolences.

Whenever I encountered this wonderful man - who looked and talked and carried himself like he stepped out of a Norman Rockwell painting - I shook his hand a little longer and a little more firmly. There was something about him that seemed timeless, as if no matter how much the world picked up speed and started to go sideways, Barney was there to step on the brake. Or at least downshift. I know how difficult the last few years were, and I know that he was ready to move on, but the world will feel different without him in it. Mrs. Worthing, he was very fortunate to have you as his wife, John, Doug and Ray, I was always so happy for you to have had such a great dad, and the classiness and authenticity and character just trickles down through the generations. You all stepped up big time when he needed you, and in true Worthing fashion, you will always be able to hold your heads high. Much love to all of you.
