Jacobs, Robert E., Sr.
Endicott: Robert E. (Bob) Jacobs Sr., 75, of Endicott, went to join his family in Heaven on November 24, 2013. Bob was predeceased by his mother, Helena and father, Gordon; his son, Robert Jacobs Jr.; stepdaughter, Sandra McCormick; sisters, Dolores and Juanita; and sister-in-law, Sharon Jacobs. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Alice; daughters, Debra (David) Scott, Tammy (Gary) Hammitt, Bonnie (Jake) Shuck, Helena Jacobs, and Dolores (Steve) VanWinkle; stepson, Charles McCormick Jr.; 9 grandchildren, Nicole (Michael), Scott (Kristen), Keith, Robert III (Tiffany), Paige, Tanya, Casey, Jacob and Katelyn; 6 great-grandsons, Jack, Jason, Taylor, Robert Patrick, Nathan and Tristan. Bob is also survived by his brother, Gordon III; sister, Yvonne; and several nieces and nephews. In his younger years, Bob worked for the Highway Fruit Market, Lou and Johns, and drove truck for Diamond Potatoes. He then went to work for the Stan Payne Construction Company where he became a supervisor and retired after 25 years of service. Bob loved to go camping with his family. He enjoyed fishing with the grandkids out at the Forest Lake Campgrounds. He did a lot of work at the campground by running their 50/50, putting on the camp's breakfast, pizza parties and the big clambake for the campers to enjoy. He then moved to the Montrose Campground where he did the same for the campers. For about 8 years he became a "Snow Bird" and went to Florida where he resided in Ocala. There he enjoyed going to the flea markets where he got ideas for several woodworking projects that he did in his workshop. He was always busy in his garage making or repairing things; anything to keep him busy. A special thank you to Dr Lowry and to Dr VanderMeer of the Guthrie Clinic for their compassion and care to Bob. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, November 27, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, LLC, 300 East Main St., Endicott. Burial will follow in Vestal Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 26, 2013, from 5-7:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, November 27, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. So sorry for your loss. The world has lost a great man and a wonderful friend. Tammy once referrred to him as a gentle bear and that is what he was. He was always willing to help someone in need with his truck or with his hands. So many fun times we had on the campground It was never the same after he left. One of the things I remember is helping Bobby and Bob with the pig roast and Bobby trying to put an apple in the pig's mouth. Of course, Bob came to the rescue. Bob always volenteered; yet, he expected nothing in return. We will always cherish the fond memories we shared. Tomi and David Kimble

Dear Jacobs Family,
I was so saddened to read of Mr. Jacobs' passing. I have such wonderful memories of weekends at Forest Hills Lake. Whether it was the Fourth of July fireworks, the clambake, bingo or simply a walk around the lake, you could count on Mr. Jacobs to make you feel like part of the campground family. I so miss those days.
I'm so sorry for your loss. You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
