Steve, I felt your warmth in tonight's brilliant sunset... Udo and I will keep you close in our hearts always. Thanks for your friendship, then and now.
Such a wonderful, upbeat person who would do anything for anybody anytime. I love you and will miss talking with you.
We DID have lots of great conversations over the years! Good times as well!
Rock on, Stevo. Hope you'll find the ultimate waves and enjoy riding them!
Unbelieveably tragic! Steve was a loving, great person, always giving and caring. Had fun, memorable times with him. He will be missed tremendously by all who knew and loved him. My concolences and deep heartfelt sympathy go out to his immediate family and close friends. Heaven just got another angel who left this world. May God be with him as well as those he leaves behind.
Rock on, Stevo, and keep riding those waves!

Steve was a great person to me. I was a down and out surfer. He let me stay at his house for nothing and we always had food. And good times-surf and more! Jaya
RIP Steve, hang ten wherever you are.
Damn it, the Sonoma Coast lost a true surf bro and amazing man. Take comfort in knowing that Steve-O has (no doubt) already hooked up with some great old souls and spirits in his next life. To his daughter and grandson, know you were much adored and loved. Sending hugs to you both. The sea will always be there for you to go to, and so will this community. So sorry for your loss, I know it is so huge. Hugs and much love to you both.
Blessings & long may you ride, Steve-O!
Stevo, I am you are still around in spirit bro, you were an hornerable man, and enjoyed the times we had at concerts, shows and just trippin around, you will be deeply missed, in the community and along the coastline, also, when I use to make my suprise visits to your house, on the way to bodega, mendo or marin! RIP brother, and may the gods shine upon your soul, as your riding the big wave in the sky now bra!!!
Stevo you will bring as much happiness back there as you did down here in the line-up. Thanks for being such a great guy!
Just thinking about Steve and his family.
I am so sorry for the loss of such an amazing person. Every time my family and I went to visit him he had a smile on his face and had great stories to tell. His home was like a museum of fun memories as well as history. One of my favorite stories was about his box of Great full dead ticket stubs he collected from every concert he attended, I think he said he was missing 3 but it really didn't make a difference since there were at least 100 of them in that box.
And surfboards, they were everywhere, he had surfboards on his ceiling in his garage, around the yard, and each one was unique. My children loved to go over there and ask him tons of questions and he never got tired of answering them. I just wish they had gotten the chance to surf with him.
Steve-O had a warm heart and a pleasant smile with soft eyes. My family and I will forever miss him.
My heart goes out to his family.
RIP Steve-O you will be missed forever. Enjoy your wave to eternal peace we love you.

Acacia, I was shocked to hear of the loss of your dad. I have fond memories of him at Jenn's wedding. We shared stories, and laughs galore! Our thoughts are with you,
Love you, Linda (aka, the other mom)
We'll miss you my friend, lots to ponder, after a 40 year friendship. I'll see you on the other side my friend
So shocking and tragic. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family
Steve was my best friend & I always called him my brother. A more generous or smarter man could not be found. We have fought, had fun, gone to so many concerts, & always laughed.
May God bless Acacia, Cyrus, Mike, & of course Kara.
I love you Steve.
So sorry and sad for his daughter, family and friends. He was just in my shop before Thanksgiving making copies of something - happy and friendly. I'm glad I can remember him this way.
Such a tragic loss. Thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.
Such an loss of an old time surfer and friend of this community. He will be missed. Our best to his surviving family members.
That's a bummer. Steve sounds like the type of guy I would like to have known.
