So sad to hear this news. I learned so much from Mark as a professor and appreciated his presence and a warm as wonderful human being.

I just heard of Marks passing and I'm so sad. Mark and I worked together at Oakcrest back in the early 70's and I would guest lecture for him at SSU in the 80's. He always made me laugh...hard! I have always thought of him as 1 of the most intelligent people On the planet. The fact that he used his smarts to enhance our world and to make us feel better about our all to human selves speaks to that sweet heart of his. I have always adored you Mark, you made the world a better place. Barbara, we have never met but I am so sorry you lost your partner, my deepest condolences. You must be an incredible woman. Good-bye old friend.

Mark was a terrific neighbor! It was not uncommon for us to connect with him during his many walks up and down the hill. We could always count on his infectious smile, his cheerful greeting, his great sense of humor and his gracious demeanor. He was an inspiring man and a deeply caring person. We will miss you so much, Mark!
With heartfelt care and sympathy,

Goodbye, my old high school tennis buddy. Mark and I were on the tennis team together. He was always number 1 on the ladder. We played a lot of tennis outside of school also, and it seems like we were always laughing. I was lucky to have known him. So sad to hear of his passing. RIP, my friend.

I am heartbroken. I didn't know Mark was sick. Shame on me for losing touch after so many great years of playing tennis together. Barbara, my heart goes out to you. One of the great human beings has been lost too soon. I wish I had some more time with Mark. RIP my great friend.

Mark and I were great friends in high school and beyond. When I returned to SSU to receive the Alumni of the Year Award (2006), we had a tremendous reunion. Our friendship transcended time--I will miss him; and I wish the best for Barbara and his family.

A true greatness of spirit has left this earth a better place...

Thank you, Mark, for your friendship and all the laughs we had.....
