Mark was a very special man who was passionate about helping others. I knew Mark with his involvement with the Santa Rosa Quad-Rotary Clubs SOS Program that was initially directed at truant children. It was quickly learned that truancy was the symptom and not the problem. This lead to a one on one counseling program utilizing Sonoma State College (at the time)Interns. Since the Rotary clubs helped fund the program, Rotarians received an annual, heartwarming report from Mark and his Interns. Thanks Mark. You have 'paid your dues' to be in a better place.

Dr. Mark Doolittle was my professor, mentor and supervisor in the counseling program at SSU. His inspirational presentation of the Law and Ethics class we had to take elevated a potentially dry course into a vividly alive and stimulating movement of thoughts and deep reflections about people, how to protect them and the ethics we must follow to be the best therapists we can be. I was enthralled, moreover interested in the study of law for the first time in my life. As my supervisor and mentor he shared his wisdom from his many years of experience. As a student I felt his care, that we all succeed and do well. I was privileged to sit in his weekly supervision groups and receive an hour of one on one supervision as an intern in the wonderful Community Counseling Clinic he ran. He was my anchor, my rock and my cheerleader as I made my way through a very challenging program. Thank you Mark for your boundless generosity and kindness. To Mark's family and loved ones I send my love and profound gratitude that you shared this wonderful human being with so many of us.
