What a terrible tragedy. I always enjoyed the chance encounters with Hank, Suzie, and the children when bicycling or walking past our house in the Eureka neighborhood. We send our love and condolences to all of you.

My heart goes out to your grieving family. I knew Suzanne through leading field trips and working with students together. Her enthusiasm was infectious and her students embraced that excitement. She will be sorely missed.

I first met Suzie a little over four years ago at a gathering of mutual friends. She was a few weeks away from giving birth to Evekyn and I remember well her sweet, gentle nature along with beauty and great intelligence. She made a deep impression on me. When Evelyn was tiny, she brought her to the Storytime I have at the Eureka Library for parents and babies. Malcolm was very tolerant of this, but being four years older, he couldn't wait for his mom to join him in checking out books. Suzie's gentle patience with both kids was a joy to watch. Her mother-in-law, Ann Seemann, is a friend of mine. I know that Ann and Suzie adored each other. My heart aches for their loss. May your close family support you in the times to come. I love you all...
