I loved Harry Grabel. It was the best bar restaurant in Atlantic City. He did not need " Bar Rescue ". We will all miss him. We wish we still had him and his type of classy bar.
Condolences to Doris and the family on their loss of a fine man. My memories of Harry go back even further than the obituary history. We met when I was just shy of the drinking age and he had taken over the management of the Tropical Bar. Located at New Jersey and Atlantic Avenues I believe it was owned by his father-in-law, Max Lewis. Harry was young, ambitious, and definitely into entertainment. Within weeks this small neighborhood bar was remodeled and go go girls as well as piano player, Ray Dietrich, were performing on week-ends to a crowded bar. Even at this early time Harry had his sight set on The Tropics. He was successful in his quest and hosted an even better entertainment lounge, GRABEL'S, for years! Thanks for the memories, old friend.
Very sad to hear of Harry's passing. We were the house band that played at Grabels and have very fond memories of funny ways and kindness. (Bill Christman Expresso Show Band). R.I.P. and thanks for the memories.
My heartfelt condolences to the family of this legendary gentleman. Thank you Harry for countless priceless memories of nights full of joy while performing on your stage. I know I am not alone in saying, you always made me feel special. You made the music makers and night owls always feel like we were home. Thank you, you will always have a special place in our hearts.
Harry was my life long friend..my heartfelt sadness to Doris, Mark, Scott, Max and Caleb. Will be missed, and never replaced.

Thank you Harry for helping make my young adult memories exciting by providing a great place that my friends and I could/would frequently go..RIP
Mark, Scott, Max, Caleb and Doris, I go back many years with Harry & Grabels..My family's sincerest condolences. My Uncle Cooks Books used to leave his cab outside while he stopped in to sing a song or two with whatever band was playing. I actually got over my stage fright at Grabel's when Sandi Fontana brought me up on stage with "Rumors", and made me sing in front of the regulars at Grabel's. I spent many nights, singing with bands, and hanging out with friends over the years, and just adored how both Doris and Harry always made me feel like family. RIP Harry, now you can party with Cook's Book's, my Dad, Jimmy G,and now my little sister Tammy too....Your business sense, and respect for local entertainers will be sorely missed.
R.I.P. Mr. Harry Grabel... End Of An Era... You Were Da Best...

To the Grabel family, So very sorry for your loss. Harry was a good man and will be missed by all.
Dear Doris, Mark & Scotty (you will always be Scotty to me), I am so very sorry for your loss. Harry was a good man and was always kind to me when I was a child. I remember the day he showed me the tattoo the Nazi's gave him. Even as a child I knew that he had been through something horrific and I felt privileged that he shared this with me. In doing so he made sure that it would never be forgotten. I have shared this story with my children and hope they will carry it on for all the survivors.
When I grew up and started working at the Taj Mahal Harry would come hang out with me in my office every now and then. This made very happy I always enjoyed those short visits and am now very happy to have those memories. Please accept my sincerest condolences. Love to you all, Mary xoxo

"Thanks for the good news..." Which, of course, was Harry's way of dealing with bad news. There's a hole in my heart that will not heal easily. Atlantic City has lost an institution and I have lost a dear friend. My condolences to Doris, Mark and Scott.
